Actress Saiee M. Manjrekar is set to surprise audiences with a powerful new avatar in her upcoming film Ikaai, where she stars opposite Raghav Juyal. Known for striking a balance between commercial entertainers and performance-oriented roles, Saiee describes the project as one of the most emotionally demanding and creatively rewarding experiences of her career.
Opening up about her journey with the film, Saiee revealed that Ikaai pushed her far beyond her comfort zone, both emotionally and psychologically. “This has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging films I’ve worked on so far. The character required me to access emotions that were incredibly raw, vulnerable, and intense. There were moments when I had to dig deeper than ever before as an actor,” she shared.
For Saiee, the experience was not just about portraying a character but about discovering new dimensions of her craft. She believes the film challenged her understanding of performance and taught her the power of restraint. “As actors, we constantly look for opportunities that help us grow, and Ikaai did exactly that. It made me realize that silence, vulnerability, and emotional stillness can often be more impactful than dramatic expression. That was a valuable lesson for me,” she said.
The actress added that the film’s emotional honesty is what makes its horror elements truly compelling. Rather than relying solely on conventional scares, the story keeps its characters emotionally exposed, allowing audiences to connect deeply with their fears, struggles, and vulnerabilities. “The horror in Ikaai feels real because the emotions are real. That authenticity is what makes the film so special,” she explained.
Produced by Vikas Bahl and directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary, Ikaai is currently under production and is expected to release next year. With its unique blend of psychological depth and horror, the film promises to showcase Saiee M. Manjrekar in a completely new light, offering audiences a side of the actress they have never seen before.
