Vidya Balan will make a special appearance on this week’s Cricket Connected episodes alongside former Team India stars Gautam Gambhir and Irfan Pathan as the experts on the English and Hindi shows. Balan, a Padma Shree awardee and National Film award-winning actor, will be promoting her upcoming flick Shakuntala Devi, a biographical drama that touches upon the various events in the life of Shakuntala Devi, whose ability to solve complex mathematical problems swiftly, made her famous as the “human computer”.
Speaking exclusively on Star Sports show Cricket Connected before the premier of Shakuntala Devi, National Film award winner Vidya Balan can’t wait to see her favourite Team India stars back on the field, “It’s unfortunate to see how the world has been impacted due to the ongoing pandemic and we all can get through this together. Sports have always been a symbol of unity. Being an ardent Team India fan, I’ve really missed seeing our stars on the field, but thanks to Cricket Connected, I’ve managed to get my dose of what’s happening in the world of cricket. It’s inspiring to see how our cricketing superstars like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma keep themselves motivated and fit. I’ve always loved watching cricket matches and living in Mumbai, the default setting is always to support Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Some of our cricketers score runs as fast as Shakuntala Devi does her calculations. Hopefully, we will be able to bring back cricket which I believe, can instill a sense of hope and happiness into our lives. I’m really looking forward and thrilled to be part of the next episode of Cricket Connected.”
