It’s always great working with Amit Trivedi: Lyricist Ozil Dalal

Ozil Dalal is a budding lyricist in the Bollywood industry. With the ups and downs in the early stage of his career, Ozil is now a known name in the industry. Known for movies like Sushant Singh Rajput movie Drive, Mahesh Bhatt acting debut movie Mumbai City, Award winning children’s film Blue Mountains and more. Ozil Dalal made a powerful presence as a lyricist in Bollywood.
 
He has been associated with popular music composer Amit Trivedi in many projects. The huge break in Coke studio season 3 was the icebreaking moment for him. In coke studio, he was the lyrics writer for Amit Trivedi’s song “Kyun Na”. The song had massive followers. After its success, Ozil and Amit worked for many songs like anthem “Bas bajana chahiye gana” of Gaana.com and also Dil Ka Gaana series and others….Gaana.com got the most prestigious Abby award. Ozil has also written many national and international Commercials for other brands & other Music Directors. Amit had remade the legendary song “Allah tero naam” in Times of music show on Sony TV with additional lyrics by Ozil. Those 8 lines were truly inspiring, motivating and spiritual, spreading message of world peace. Even he had been the lyric writer of the superhit number “Makhna” of Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez’s film Drive which was released on OTT platform Netflix and music was by Tanishq Bagchi. Now he is collaborated with Amit in his new album and many other projects.



Ozil Dalal shared, “Hard work and luck both play equal roles to work for Big songs like Makhana from Drive, Sushant Singh movie, I always wanted to give Guajarati songs a Bollywood touch to make it universal. Being a Gujarati I penned lyrics for Jatin-Pratik in a Gujarati Biopic first sports award winning film Diya –The wonder girl. The martial art anthem in the film is inspired by Amitabh Bhattacharya’s song from Brother.

Ozil Dalal has also written songs for award winning films The Blue Mountain and Moh. He wrote a football song in movie Penalty and a peppy dance number in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Mumbai City. Apart from films, he had been the lyricist for many other ads and web-series. He is highly inspired by Gulzaar Saheb, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Prasoon Joshi, Irshad Kamil, Piyush Mishra and more. He loves to do experiments. He completes his homework like a kid for any new subject. From the beginning he always wanted to be a lyricist which will create an eyebrow raising moment amongst listener.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mere Pyare Prime Minister is set to release on 14th December

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming film, Mere Pyare Prime Minister is all set to release on 14th December 2018

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has always explored stories that are rooted to the country and this movie will focuses on the open defecation issue and sanitation problems in the country.

The film is shot at real locations which were finalized after the recce of 1 month of Mumbai and highlights the mother-son relation who’s will is to achieve the impossible.

It stars the national award-winning actress Anjali Patil who is playing the role of the mother.

Another very interesting thing about the film is the title. While the film is about four young friends, the title has Prime Minister in it. Now it is to be seen why it is named like that.

Coincidentally, Rakeysh’s 2006 film Rang De Basanti, which was a huge hit back then and became a cult film eventually was also a friendship film. It will be interesting to see him have a fresh take on the subject.

Three years ago, Mehra, with an NGO from Ahmedabad which inspired by Rang De Basanti wanted to do bring about change, visited the Gandhi Ashram in Gandhinagar and after seeing the Mahatma’s model toilets started an initiative to build toilets in municipal schools.

The music of the film is given by Shankar Ehsan Loy and lyrics by Gulzar.

Malaika Arora Khan says Hello Hello

One expects fireworks and are not disappointed when Malaika Arora dances to a song created by Vishal Bhardwaj and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. Rekha Bhardwaj adding the voice and lyrics by Gulzar in a young techno savvy lingo are making the song a huge favourite with the youth specially.

The song, picturised in a village mela, is part of the story where the Pataakha sisters may be finding the love of their lives. “Gulzar sab has created lyrics that are so earthy and yet so contemporary that they have captured the social media frenzy that has become part of our everyday life. It’s very slice of life.” says Vishal

Malaika, too, was on board instantly. “Who could refuse a number sung by Rekha ji, written by Gulzar saab with the music being given by Vishal Bhardwaj? And when you have Ganesh choreographing you, there can be nothing better! I was instantly in love with the peppy number,” says Malaika.

“We have kept the steps of the song earthy to match with the number. It is always a pleasure to choreograph someone like Malaika who is so graceful. She has done a fabulous job in the song and I am sure everyone will love her in it. Malaika has her signature style which her fans love her for and they will get that and much more in the song.” says Ganesh, adding, “The rhythm and lyrics are very catchy and I instinctively feet that it will be a chartbuster.”

“Hello Hello feels like a lottery to me specially when your naughty song has Malaika complementing the sensuality of the song. Vishal, Gulzar Sab and Ganesh Acharya are magic together,” says Rekha Bhardwaj

“Malaika Arora Khan started the trend of these special songs, so when we came up with this track for Pataakha, she was the first one we thought of casting. Hello Hello is tailor made for her. With Gulzar’s lyrics, and with Rekhaji’s voice, we are confident this one is going to be a blockbuster.” says Pataakha producer Ajay Kapoor.

Pataakha, produced by Kyta Productions, B4U Motion Pictures and Vishal Bhardwaj Films, is a comedy-drama about two sisters, Badki and Chhutki and is based on an acclaimed short story by renowned writer Charan Singh Pathik. It is being directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz. The film will release on September 28, 2018.
