India’s biggest cricket carnival kick started on 31st March 2023. The much-awaited opening ceremony had the nation’s favorites, Rashmika Mandanna and Tamanna Bhatia, who blazed the stage with their sizzling performances. The defending champions Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, played their first match against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings, led by the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Gujarat Titans won the thrilling first match. The grand opening ceremony was choreographed by India’s finest choreographer, Shiamak Davar, who has a jam-packed schedule with back-to-back events.
This is not the first time that Shiamak has choreographed an opening ceremony for any sporting event. The Guru of Contemporary dance was also a vital part of the opening ceremony of the Women’s IPL, where he choreographed Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon.
Rashmika and Tamanna have been brilliant dancers in the past, and their performance will be outstanding, as Shiamak had complete confidence in them during the rehearsals. The talented artists lived up to their expectations and, indeed, gave a performance that was worth all the excitement.
In an exclusive conversation with us, Shiamak Davar shares, “As a choreographer, your work becomes easy when you work with beautiful talents who are superb human beings at the end of the day. It was a big day for all of us, and we were confident that both Rashmika and Tamanna would be outstanding at the inauguration ceremony. Looking forward to more such associations where we can thoroughly entertain the audience.”
On the work front, Shiamak Davar has a beautiful run with back-to-back projects. The choreographer has big things coming up and will keep his fans updated.
Few days back Shiamak Davar’s did choreography for Vishal Bharadwaj’s directed Fursat. Gulzar wrote the lyrics, and the soundtrack was composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The beautiful amalgamation of these fine artists was backed up by the choreography of Shiamak Davar, also known as the “guru of modern contemporary dance.”
