The behind-the-scenes world of moviemaking is still a mystery to the common man. The audience sees the final product-glossy and glamorous. No one really knows what goes on behind the scenes. There are stars and then there are their agents, who, if you may please, are mini stars in their own right. Unearthing this facet of the movie business is the upcoming series on Netflix, ‘Call My Agent’ directed by Shaad Ali. Adapted from the very successful French series by the same name, the idea is to make an Indian version of the idea. The series which features actors playing themselves in fictional circumstances has an episode centered around the real life couple – Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal.
Richa’s character is nothing like the person she is in real life which is what inspired the actress to take up the role. Poker-faced dialogue delivery from Chadha will leave the audience in splits with this one. The trailer also shows a snippet of the conversation between Ali and Richa where the two seem to be taking potshots at each other.
Talking about her character in the upcoming series, Richa says, ”It was a real blessing to be shooting opposite Ali for the first time. I love the French show and I am happy someone thought it could work in the Indian setting. The director was so open to ideas, he allowed us to improvise and come up with comedic lines. Shaad is cooking up a treat and I cannot wait for the release.”
Richa Chadha will be also seen next in Voot Select’s original web series Candy, where she will be donning the avatar of a cop for the first time. The film will also have Ronit Roy in a lead role and is helmed by Ashish R Shukla. Richa is known for portraying ballsy roles on screen and she always makes her presence felt through strong and crucial characters.
