Modelling and acting are both integral parts of showbiz but are quite opposite when it comes to the core skill sets. Models are encouraged to not to emote while an actor’s job is all about emoting. It gets immensely challenging and interesting when models make a transition to acting, moving from a mute expressionless showcase to emotive dialogue delivery. Ayesha Kanga
Ayesha Kanga is an NID alumni and majored in graphic design. From a creative and technical background, she pursued modelling and then gravitated to facing the camera with a plum role in a prestigious project. We know her as Yashika Mehta from Netflix’s Class. She has walked the ramp for Lakme Fashion Week and worked on Fashion Shoot campaigns with renowned designers like Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre, Raw Mango, Falguni Shane Peacock, Fab India, Jade, Bridal Asia and many more.
Priyanka Karunakaran
From being a Kingfisher Cover Model to walking the ramp for various designers, Priyanka Karunakaran is a well-known figure in the Indian and international modelling circuit. Eventually she moved to New York to pursue her degree in Acting. After returning to India, she joined theatre and she has now made her debut with Netflix’s ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’, starring Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal. She plays the role of a South Indian Air Hostess along with Yami Gautam.
Medha Rana
Medha Rana’s charming beauty, statuesque structure and winning personality have taken her places in print, commercial and acting work. After being a well-known model, she debuted in London Files with Actors Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli. Medha will next be seen in a docu drama called ‘Dancing on the Grave’, directed by Patrik Graham which is streaming on Amazon Prime.
Anjali Sivaraman
Best known for her role in the Netflix series Class, Anjali has been a model and rose to popularity when she campaigned for Sabyasachi and Masaba. Anjali Sivaraman, a multi-talented beauty who always wanted to be an actress first faced the camera lens for Print ads and shoots.
Piya Pal
Piya Pal, born and raised in Mumbai always wanted to pursue acting. But before that, she pursued modelling full-fledged and has also been a part of numerous ramp shows and shoots for leading national and global brands. She even won the title of Miss Perfect Pune 2021 and is now all set to make her acting debut on OTT with a film titled Naina. The movie has a dark themed narrative and will be released on Hotstar.
