Each and every film sets out to narrate the story of someone in the society. Some times this attempt meets with success but many times the story is told indirectly. Marathi Cinema has always been in the forefront to drive home any kind of poignant message to the society with issue based films which often stir the emotion of the spectator. The announcement of one such brand new issue based film was done recently. Kathputli Colony is the title of this interesting film which arouses curiosity among all the cinegoers instantly. Though the title does not indicate the sort of content the film will have, the film will have stories with which every Indian can easily relate to. Producer Shamrao Krushnai Pandurang Sasane has announced that he will produce the film under his banner Sham Sasane Creations.
The film will be directed by Dayasagar Wankhede who had earlier directed the film ‘Copy’. The story of the film has been penned with aplomb by Milind Shinde who is renowned for getting into the characters of his roles with effortless ease and dexterity. Milind Shinde will play a very vital role in the issue based film along with the poet Kishore Kadam who is of late very busy acting in pivotal roles in popular films in Hindi. Every title indicates some facet or the other of some problem in society and Kathputli Colony is no exception to the rule and what it sets out to tell will be unfurled when the film is released. To sum it up in a nutshell, it tells the story of a village, homes and our neighbors etc besides discipline.
Throwing some light on the subject of his film, director Dayasagar Wankhede says that Milind Shinde has written such a beautiful story that the moment I watched it, I felt like I should immediately make a film based on it. The audience will be able to watch a realistic film which sets out to tackle aesthetically a major issue. Dayasagar also emphasised that each and every cinegoer will identify himself or herself with the issue in the film Kathputli Colony and like it tremendously.
