The theatre circuit goes on with its business and the hard core theatre going audience supports plays. There has always been a demand for children’s plays, especially during holiday season, and comes a news that an iconic play ‘Bokya Satbande’, written by veteran actor-writer Dilip Prabhavalkar, making a comeback. ‘Bokya Satbande’, which first came to meet the viewers through stories and later through film, is now coming to in the form of a play. The commercial drama ‘Bokya Satbande’ based on Dilip Prabhavalkar’s National Award winning book ‘Bokya Satbande’ will soon be available to theatre lovers.
The play ‘Bokya Satbande’ produced by Anamika, Bhumika and Milap Theatre is written by Dr. Nilesh Mane, Produced by Nilesh Mane, directed by Vikram Patil and Deepti Pranav Joshi. The play is visually conceptualised by Pranav Joshi, while Milind Shintre is the creative director of the play. Aarush Prasad Bedekar will be seen in the title role in this drama. Along with him, some other actors are going to add colour to this drama with their performances. Director Vikram Patil has expressed the opinion that ‘Bokya Satbande’, which is a completely commercial play, will give a unique experience to the audience of all age groups, even though the story of the play is written with a child at the center. According to Deepti Joshi, Bokya Satbande’s exploits in the play are an inspiration to all, and there are some sayings that if one is always cautious and keeps a close eye on the happenings around one can face the challenges with patience. Moreover, the poster of this play has been designed by Gaurav Sarjerao.
The dress rehearsal of the play ‘Bokya Satbande’ will be performed at Balgandharva Rangmandir on April 20 at 5 pm. The experiments will then be held on April 21 at 12:30 PM at Annabhau Sathe Memorial, Padmavati and on April 22 at 12:30 PM at Yashwantrao Chavan Theatre, Kothrud. Composer Ninad Mhaisalkar has composed the music for the lyrics penned by lyricist Vaibhav Joshi. Set designer Sandesh Bendre has made the set and Rahul Joglekar has done the lighting. The costumes are done by Mahesh Sherla and the colors are done by Kamlesh Biche. Santosh Bhangre has done the choreography.
