Actor-director Pravin Tarde directorial upcoming historical film ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao‘ trailer was released on the occasion of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti. The film is one of the much-awaited films of 2021. Ever since the makers have released the poster from the film, it has been trending and making news for all the right reasons.

The grandeur of the film can be seen by looking at this small glimpse of Maharashtra’s great cinema. Why is the film ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ called ‘Maharashtra’s Mahacinema’ because of the thrilling battle scenes, inspiring dialogues and thrilling cinematography by Mahesh Limaye which includes many actors who have not been seen in Marathi till date.
‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ is based on the life of an unsung warrior Hansaji Mohite, who was the military commander of the Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was conferred with the title ‘Hambirrao’ by Shivaji Maharaj.
It has been clarified that Gashmir Mahajani will play the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Earlier, it was announced that Gashmir will also play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. So it will be interesting to see him in the role of both Chhatrapatis. Pravin Tarde plays ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ and Snehal Tarde plays Laxmibai Hambirrao Mohite. The film also stars Shruti Marathe, Raqesh Bapat as Sarjha Khan and Amit Jadhav as Portuguese Viceroy Francisco de Tavora.
Produced under the banner of Shivneri Foundation which belongs to Sandip Mohite who happens to be the descendant of Hambirrao Mohite. Sandeep Mohite Patil presentation, ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ is produced by Shekhar Mohite Patil, Saujanya Nikam and Dharmendra Bora of Urvita Productions.
The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Pravin Viththal Tarde who has also helmed the direction. The costumes are designed by Manasi Attarde, music is composed by Narendra Bhide, special effects by Milind Shivnikar, sound by Ganesh Phuke.
‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ will release on 27 May 2022.
