Tatkshan is a murder mystery Hindi film that saw its release on 19th April 2024 in cinemas across different cities in Uttar Pradesh. Tatkshan takes off really well only to fall almost immediately because of amateurish acting by new and non performing actresses. The film is clearly as interesting as the length of the role of its leading man Vikrant Rai in the film who holds the viewers simply by his screen presence.
Vikrant Rai does exceptionally well in the role of a police officer and carries the entire film on his shoulder. He could be more careful in future in choosing the kind of team he should be working with and being seen with the bigger and established supporting cast could be really helpful in cementing his position in Bollywood as one of the most sought after star.
New actor Gaurav Singh Yadav as an antagonist in the role of Gacchu is great. He could easily be a new found villain in Bollywood. Pallavi Singh does a fair job as the lead actress. Akash Pandey provides regular support nothing extraordinary. Sumit Sagar is so so. Out of three new girls Akanksha Pandey stands out. Muskan Lalwani and Ruchi Singh Rathore should take up another job rather than acting.
Director Vaibhav Verma is promising but clearly helpless due to the lack of budget. Screenplay and story penned by him is engaging. As a film director he needs to work with better producers to showcase his work in better light.
Vikrant Rai’s action and stunt scenes are very good. Editing by Anurag Singh is loose. Charming Boy’s music and Shalini Sajal’s lyrics are functional. Particularly one song that stands out is ‘Zamaane Bhar ki Khushiyan’ sung by Viraj Tripathi on brother and sister relation which creates powerful emotions in you. Debashish Bhattacharya’s background music is weak and lacks finishing. Khushdeep Singh’s cinematography is dull. Post Production work is below average.
Lack of promotion will certainly have an adverse impact on its box office collection. All in all the movie deserves 2 stars out of 5 only for Vikrant Rai as the one man army in the film.
