Trailer of Shailendra Singh’s critically acclaimed movie Kacche Din (Raw Days) released

In Shailendra Singh’s Kache Din, multiple award winner and India’s most beloved theater and film actor, Deepak Dobriyal gives a gripping performance as a migrant taxi driver, barely earning enough to eat on the unfinished, congested streets of Mumbai City. While trying to keep a distance, but ultimately getting pulled in to the lives of his passengers, he also has a run in with a police officer, played by the indelible Yashpal Sharma. Late at night, he shares a harrowing encounter with a slick pimp, Ashrut Jain, and his lady of the night, Teena Singh. A lunch box left behind in the cab leads him to a life-changing encounter the next morning. “It’s called the Maximum City,” says Shailendra, “but Mumbai is still a work in progress. The taxi driver knows that each of his passengers is just trying to get by in this struggle of a life, just like he is. They are all just like the city they live in, a little bit raw.”

The film has been edited by National Award winning editor Arun Kumar Aravind and has won various laurels at film festivals across the globe including ‘Special Festival Mention’ at the 2018 Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, ‘Best Foreign Short Film’ and ‘Best Director ‘ at 2018 Northern Virginia International Film Festival, and ‘Best Short Film’ at Virgin Spring Cinefest, amongst many others.

Bilingual film ANYA is about human trafficking

Right from the inception of Cinema in India, Maharashtrian thespians have always displayed their prowess in acting and attained popularity and have achieved their own special position and status in films, the viewers will very soon experience this in the forthcoming film Anya which is being made in Marathi as well as Hindi.

Being made under the banner of Initiative Films with the support of Capital Woods Pictures, the film introduces the South Indian director Simmy Joseph, who is making his debut as a director in both Hindi as well as Marathi films. Along with stalwarts like Atul Kulkarni and Prathmesh Parab, Bhushan Pradhan will also be seen in the film in a central role. Besides these actors, the film will also have Tejashri Pradhan, who has acted not on Marathi serials but also plays and films. Raima Sen is also making her debut in Marathi films with Anya. The film will also boast of Govind Namdev, Yashpal Sharma, Sunil Tawade and Kritika Dev.

The film is about human trafficking. An attempt has been made to explore a realistic hard core issue in society today and expose the sordid truth behind it. Besides directing the film, Simmy Joseph has also written the story as well as the screenplay for the film. A holder of PHD degree from JNU, Simmy is also the author of the book The Art of Satyagraha and the Messiahs. A writer with a lot of experience, Simmy will display his ability to wield the megaphone in this film with finesse. Mahendra Patil has written the meaningful and incisive dialogues for the Marathi film. Sajan Kalatheel has cranked the camera for the film. Vipin Patwah from Bollywood is the music composer of the film along with Ramanathan , Rishi S and Krishna Raj while Rohit Kulkarni has scored the background music. Hindi Lyrics by Dr. Sagar & Sanjeev Sarathi & Marathi Lyrics by Prashant Jamdar. Shekhar Ujjainwal is the production designer while Nandu Achrekar, Robin and Raju are the associate directors. Saba Mayuri is the choreographer while Neelam Shetye is the costume designer. Thanuj is Editor of the Film. The post production of the film is going on in full swing and the film is slated for release all over the world in the month of November this year.

West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall’s son Mali Marshall joins ’83

Kabir Khan’s upcoming directorial, ’83, which is based on India’s first cricketing World Cup win adds another remarkable entry as Mali Marshal steps into his father’s shoes for the film. After Chirag Patil joined the team to essay his father Sandeep Patil, another son takes over the baton from his father with Mali, son of the late West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall Mali will be playing him on screen.

The Director wants to keep the film as realistic as possible and has been in talks with Mali for a long time. Mali is a fast bowler and a middle-order batsman like his father and suited the part perfectly.

Kabir Khan has also approached the sons of other famous West Indian Players and talks with them are on, including fast bowler Carl Greenidge, son of Gordon Greenidge. The team is also looking for players who will represent Team England who played India in the semifinals.

Confirming the news Kabir Khan shared, “Yes we are thrilled to have Mali Marshall, son of legend Malcolm Marshall play the role of his father but his bowling action is also exactly like him. As we all know, Malcolm Marshall was part of the fearsome West Indies quartet of pace bowlers – Marshall, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, and Andy Roberts”

Kabir’s team was in Dharamshala recently for a 10-day training and bonding session. Former cricketers from the 83 team like Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, and Yashpal Sharma dropped by with tips and joined some training sessions helmed by coach Balvinder Singh Sandhu. The actors are also being trained by Under 19 cricketer Rajiv Mehra. Now they will resume their training in Mumbai.  The film, produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri, Shibasis Sarkar and Kabir, goes on the floors on May 15 in London and Scotland. It will be shot in a 100-day schedule.

Tracing the historic victory of 1983 world cup, Kabir Khan’s upcoming directorial will star Ranveer Singh as the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev. The film ’83 would be Ranveer Singh’s first trilingual film to be made in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the sports film will bring to light one of the most important event in Indian cricket history. The film will be shot at real locations and will be going on floors early next year.

Shouldered by the then captain Kapil Dev, who led the Indian cricket team to it’s maiden World Cup win, 1983’s World Cup stays to be one of the most etched events in the minds of the cricket fans.

Touted as the “biggest sports film” of the country, ’83 is slated to be released on 10 April 2020 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It marks the first-ever trilingual release for both Ranveer Singh and director Kabir Khan.
