This is what Raghubir Yadav had to say when asked about his Alien-like character in ZEE5’s Ghoomketu!

The prolific actor Raghubir Yadav has been entertaining the audience for decades and now will be next seen in Pushpendra Nath Mishra’s directorial film ‘Ghoomketu’ in a never seen avatar before. The actor who has essayed the role of a father, son, brother and a friend in various films will have a unique character in his upcoming next.

The makers of the film released the trailer recently, where we’ve seen Raghubir play the character of Ghoomketu’s father, who is a strict dad from a small village in India.

Interestingly, the actor will be seen sporting the look of an alien in the film. This can specifically comes be seen when Ghoomketu starts imagining one of his written scripts and imagines his father portraying a character.

When asked Raghubir about it he said “After the whole shoot for my part was done, Pushpendra Ji said, there is one more scene pending which We would like to shoot in Bombay. So I asked him about it. So after a couple of days when I returned to Bombay I got a call for a night shoot. When I reached there I asked for the script to which the director said that you need to get ready so please get your make up done first. So when I went to get my make up done so I saw weird and long ears with some hair wig in the van I did not look at myself during the makeup and thought will only look in the mirror when the shoot is done. So I completed the shoot and came back to my vanity van. And let me tell you when I saw myself in the mirror it was very difficult for me to accept the fact that it is me.And till date, I could never get that look out of my head.”

Apart from Raghubir Yadav the movie also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role of Ghoomketu, while filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has essayed the character of a lazy police office named Officer Badlani.  The rest of the cast includes Ila Arun as Ghoomketu’s aunt in lead roles along with Swanand Kirkire, Ragini Khanna and others.

Along with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha; the film will also see special cameos from Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmaker Nikhil Advani.

Directed and written by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN), this film will be exclusively releasing on 22nd May on ZEE5.

Anurag Kashyap shares his experience of playing a laidback inspector in Ghoomketu

Ghoomketu is set to premiere on ZEE5 on May 22. The film, directed Pushpendra Nath Mishra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN), also features filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actors Ila Arun, Raghubir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire and Ragini Khanna.

Ghoomketu is a comedy-drama based on an inexperienced writer, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, struggling to make it big in the film industry in Mumbai. Anurag Kashyap plays a cop here. Ghoomketu has been directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).

Anurag Kashyap will be seen playing a cop in the film. When asked about his role, Anurag shares, “I didn’t need to do any prep. I was in between shoots and I am a reluctant actor so playing lazy came easily. And I was also at the most unfit at that time and that went with the character. Also, somehow I have only played a cop in my last three outings as an actor, including Ghoomketu now. If not an evil cop then a corrupt or a lazy cop but never a good cop.”

This quirky comedy is all set to confuse, entertain and make you laugh, this Eid weekend. The film will stream on the platform 22 May onwards!

A never seen avatar of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a comedy breakthrough

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who has played various characters in so many films will be yet again seen playing a different role in his upcoming film Ghoomketu. Directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN), this film will be exclusively releasing on ZEE5.

Ever since Ghoomketu was announced to be premiering on the platform, everyone has been looking forward to the release on 22nd May. A fun-filled comedy-drama, Ghoomketu has a wickedly playful backdrop and will be great for the entire family to watch together. The teaser of the film was released a few days ago and there is no doubt that this is a must-watch family entertainer.

Here’s what Nawazuddin Siddiqui has to say about his character in the film: “When I was in theater, I use to do a lot of comedy plays but on the silver screen, because of my intense look, the characters moved towards a more serious genre. Ghoomketu is from a small town in UP, wears quirky outfits and has a tonality of a UP wala. He is an aspiring writer with quirky takes & is on a roller coaster ride to achieving his dream. In short, its a light-hearted family entertainer.

In a comedy movie or show, I believe timing plays an important part and especially in Ghoomketu because I play the role of storyteller, so I have to compel the audience about the character as well. The chemistry and rapport with all my co-stars made it even easier. I could let go of all my inhibitions and make a fool of myself on the sets as well, play around with the character, and do weird poses just like Ghoomketu would do. The movie is made with a lot of love and honesty, I hope my fans will enjoy watching me in a comic role and subscribe to ZEE5 to watch it on 22nd May” expresses Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Apart from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film also has ace director Anurag Kashyap as a cop and the talented Ila Arun as Ghoomketu’s Aunt, in lead roles along with Raghubir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire, Ragini Khanna and others. Along with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha; the film will also see special cameos from Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmaker Nikhil Advani.

ZEE5 recently launched the poster of Ghoomketu which shows the lead, Nawazuddin Siddiqui arriving in Mumbai with his ‘pitara’ and the iconic Gateway of India as the backdrop. The movie is a comedy-drama from the viewpoint of an inexperienced writer struggling to make it big in the film industry in Mumbai.
