Jasleen Royal who recently received a great response for her song Jahan Tu Chala from Gully Boy has another reason to celebrate.

Multi-talented Jasleen  Royal made her first Gujarati debut song called Sharato Lagu has recently won her the best singer female award at the 18th Annual Transmedia Screen and Stage awards.

Jasleen Royal who is not only an independent Indian singer but also a songwriter and a music composer. Talented Jasleen Royal, who has composed and sung melodious tracks in popular Bollywood movies like  Khubsurat, Philauri, Dear Zindagi, Baar Baar Dekho, Fukrey, Badalapur that has won her glory and acclamation by the audiences and Bollywood has always set her apart as an singer. Jasleen Royal can sings in many languages like Punjabi, Hindi & as well as in English.

Celebrating the winning Jasleen says, “Won the best playback female for a gujrati song ‘Mann Melo’ I sang last year! Thank you and love to the whole team of Sharato Lagu! especially to @parthmusic for having me sing this one! And a special thanks to all my listeners! ♥

Jasleen Royal’s next project is Akshay Kumar’s Kesari, for which she has composed an emotional song and soon Jasleen will be releasing her own independent single for her audiences.

Din Shagna Da gets a male voice in ‘Still About Section 377’

Popular web series ‘All About Section 377’ now has a second season called ‘Still About Section 377’ and is due for release on a digital platform. Country’s first transgender series has a composition of one of the most beautiful tracks of all times ‘Din Shagna Da’, this time sung by a male artist- Rydell Medley. The song is originally sung and composed by Jasleen Royal which was then rehashed in Anushka Sharma’s film Phillauri.  Din Shagna Da, for the longest time has been touted as an anthem of sorts at Indian weddings and is tremendously used to mark the entry of the bride.

Din Shagna Da in ‘Still About Section 377’ encapsulates the emotions and love between the gay couple and the family around in an extremely beautiful way. The scenes look real and definitely this is a stepping stone to success in being able to portray gay romance on screen.

Amit Khanna, the director and actor in the web series, said “Din Shagna Da is a beautiful song and the male version by Rhydell is mesmerizing. Whoever has seen the rushes of the song has loved the look and feel. Still About Section 377 is a series for everyone as it deals with the emotional aspect more than the physical aspect. The LGBTQ community will draw a lot from it and most importantly be empowered. The effort has always been towards inclusion and that can happen only when people can dispel myths and biases.”
