Din Shagna Da gets a male voice in ‘Still About Section 377’

Popular web series ‘All About Section 377’ now has a second season called ‘Still About Section 377’ and is due for release on a digital platform. Country’s first transgender series has a composition of one of the most beautiful tracks of all times ‘Din Shagna Da’, this time sung by a male artist- Rydell Medley. The song is originally sung and composed by Jasleen Royal which was then rehashed in Anushka Sharma’s film Phillauri.  Din Shagna Da, for the longest time has been touted as an anthem of sorts at Indian weddings and is tremendously used to mark the entry of the bride.

Din Shagna Da in ‘Still About Section 377’ encapsulates the emotions and love between the gay couple and the family around in an extremely beautiful way. The scenes look real and definitely this is a stepping stone to success in being able to portray gay romance on screen.

Amit Khanna, the director and actor in the web series, said “Din Shagna Da is a beautiful song and the male version by Rhydell is mesmerizing. Whoever has seen the rushes of the song has loved the look and feel. Still About Section 377 is a series for everyone as it deals with the emotional aspect more than the physical aspect. The LGBTQ community will draw a lot from it and most importantly be empowered. The effort has always been towards inclusion and that can happen only when people can dispel myths and biases.”

All about Section 377 was an absolute hit and now the second season- ‘Still About Section 377’ is all ready to hit your screens soon.

Still About Section 377 is presented by SP Cinecorp and Asmiy Entertainment and produced by Mumbai based forward thinking and content driven production house Dancing Shiva and Phillum Makers.

Harmless Hugs screened ‘Still About Section 377’ for the LGBTQ community

Harmless Hugs, a Delhi based collective working with the middle class young lesbian and gay population in the city, screened the Season 2 of the much talked about web series ‘All About Section 377’, now titled- ‘Still about Section 377’, country’s first transgender series, at an event in Delhi. The main aim of the event was to empower the community and in still confidence in the face of the multiple adversities they face.

All about Section 377 was an absolute hit and now the second season is all ready to hit your screens soon. This exclusive screening was for the LGBTQ community, followed by some performances, celebrations and an insightful talk by the director of the ‘Still About Section 377’, Amit Khanna on his journey of making the series.

Amit Khanna, the director who has also acted in the series said, “This was a very important screening I believe and I’m very grateful to harmless hugs for taking the initiative. Still About Section 377 is a series for everyone as it deals with the emotional aspect more than the physical aspect. The LGBTQ community will draw a lot from it and most importantly be empowered. The effort has always been towards inclusion and that can happen only when people can dispel myths and biases.”

The web series was also screened in the city on the 9th of August by TMM Magazine, and was loved by the audience and even received a standing ovation. Still About Section 377 is presented by SP Cinecorp and Asmiy Entertainment and produced by Mumbai based forward thinking and content driven production house Dancing Shiva and Phillum Makers.

Promo of the 2nd Season of Amit Khanna’s webseries ‘All About Section 377’ released

Ace photographer Amit Khanna’s latest offering All About Section 377 season 2 is bang on, targeted to highlight the struggles of LGBTQ community the first season of this series was highly appreciated and won accolades galore.

Amit Khanna who plays the central protagonist in this show has not only acted in it but has written directed and produced it as well. The web-series is the first of its kind revolutionary in its own way as its set to highlight the transgender issues and is set against the back drop of a village, The cast involves Gulshan Nain, Ankit Bhatia, Mustafa Shaikh, Yash Yogi, Gunjan Malhotra, Amit Khanna and others. The season 2 is being produced by Asmiy Entertainment (Dhaval Patel), Dancing Shiva (Ritesh Kudecha, Anuya Chauhan Kudecha) and Philum Makers (Shyam Patel and Amit Khanna).

Amit Khanna says, “Love is a beautiful emotion which must be expressed freely and not be restricted on the basis of gender Our series All about section 377 season 2 highlights LGBTQ issues at a basic grass root level its not only the first series to take up struggles faced by the Hijara/transgender issue but it happens to deal with homophobia in Indian villages due to prejudices and lack of knowledge.”

Anuya Chauhan Kudecha (Dancing Shiva) feels, “As mankind progresses in the realm of technology, infrastructure and so on, our thoughts need to progress, one’s sexual orientation is no basis to discriminate individuals as it’s very offensive for a person’s dignity. Mr. Shyam Patel (Philum Makers) quotes “ It is important for people to understand the true emotional journey of the LGBTQ community in our society our web series enlightens the viewer on the harsh reality.”

Ankit Bhatia who plays a bisexual character says that the series is extremely close to his heart and he had no problems romancing a man in the show, Where as Gulshan Nain who had played the homophobic man in the first season matures in the next season and stands up for the basic rights of an individual and against homophobia as well as in support of transgenders.

All About Section 377 season 2 thus is an important content for the world to witness as it aims to break prejudices as well as brings in light the reality of the LGBTQ community.
