Polish Actress Natalia Janoszek marks her Bollywood debut with Chicken Curry Law

Natalia Janoszek who hails from Poland is excited for her first Bollywood outing- a Hindi feature film titled Chicken Curry Law. Natalia will be sharing screen space with powerhouse performers like Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande who are playing pivotal roles.

Natalia will be seen playing the role of a foreign national who travels to India in search of a livelihood and gets brutally raped. Her fight for justice and tryst with the Indian legal system forms the major part of the narrative. The story throws light on deep rooted social problem of women’s safety and her character’s uphill battle with the legal system throw light on law- politics nexus, corruption and blatant violation of human rights.

Talking about Natalia Janoszek’s role, she said, “I am excited for the release of this film as it is a highly relevant topic in today’s times not just in India but all over the world. I am sure it will create a social impact. It was a big opportunity for me to work with reputed Indian actors like Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande. I had googled them before coming to India, their filmography and experience intimidated me at the beginning but when I met them in person they exceptionally accommodating and guided me throughout the filming process. ”

Speaking about roping in Natalia for the role, Shekhar Sirrin said, “I think Natalia is a very gifted actor and a very brave woman. Coming to a new country and delivering on a role like this can be quite a task. She was far away from home and working on a sensitive subject like this- playing a rape victim who fights for justice can be taxing for any woman. We tried to handhold her as much as possible.

Shekhar Sirrin’s directorial debut, Chicken curry law is being released by Panorama Studios International, all over India on 9th August. Ashutosh Rana and Makran Deshpande play lead roles.

Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande team up in Court

Veteran performers Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande will be seen sharing screen space and engaged in major face off in an upcoming social drama Chicken Curry Law.  The film throws light on severe social problems around women’s safety and depicts the foreigner’s tryst with the law in India. Makrand and Ashutosh are all set to enthrall the audience with their acting chops as two lethal lawyers pitted against each other.  Both the actors will be seen playing advocates and one will get to witness some tantalizing court room drama.

On working with Makarand Deshpande, Ashutosh Rana said, “Makarand is one of the finest actors there is in the industry. I was lucky to work with some of the best actor like- Nivedita Bhattacharya, Zakir Hussain and Makarand, ofcourse. It’s always a pleasure to have powerful actors as co-stars, you are always challenged and you end up pushing yourself to deliver better. It gets more nuanced and you end up improvising continually. Makrand is one of our finest and it was an excellent experience working with him”.

Makarand Deshpande added, “Ashutosh is a fine actor and he has a very unique style. I feel we have complimented each other in our scenes together. Court scenes are drama intensive and dialogue heavy so if you co- actors are strong it becomes a fulfilling experience. I think the court scenes are the highlight of this film not just in terms of how the actors have performed, it really digs into a lot of social problems which we cannot ignore”.

Chicken Curry Law trailer released

Hard-hitting social drama, Chicken Curry Law unleashed its trailer. The high octane 2 minute long trailer gives a sneak peak into a very sensitive subject and the moot point of multiple debates in our country – Rape.

Directed by Shekhar Sirrin, Chicken Curry Law follows the journey of a young girl Maya, a trained belly dancer who comes to India in search of employment but gets brutally raped and left to die. Her quest for justice brings two power house actors Ashutosh Rana and Makrand Deshpande at a court room face off. Directed by Shekhar Sirrin, Chicken Curry law not just dishes out an engaging social drama but raises multiple questions and punches holes in our legal system.

Speaking on the trailer launch, Director Shekhar Sirrin states, “Chicken Curry Law is the outcome of extensive research. We have spoken to and interviewed a myriad mix of professionals- activists, lawyers, psychologists and victims as well. I would say that was the most difficult part of making this film. I wanted an in-depth research before attempting a subject like this. I have been lucky to have Ashustosh and Makrand on board and their nuanced performance brings the story to life.”

He added, “We keep talking about content being the king. This is one film which I can safely say has two key driving forces- research and script. I would urge movie goers to watch the film as I believe there is substantial takeaway for every Indian”. Ashutosh Rana, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Makarand Deshpande, Zakir Hussain, Aman Verma, and Polish actress, Nataliya Janoszek are a part of the stellar star cast.  This film aims to shatter stereotypical assumptions faced by foreign women in India and upholds our cultural tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava. Chicken Curry Law is written and directed by Shekhar Sirrin and will hit the screens on August 9, 2019
