“Yes To Life… No To Tobacco” Free Online Musical Concert on 7 June 2020

When the world is battling with the Covid-19 pandemic, Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), which is known for its works for the Cancer patients for last more than five decades along with World Health Organisation (WHO) have come up with a unique Online Musical Concert “Yes To Life… No To Tobacco” on June 7, 2020 at 8pm onwards on the occasion of World No Tobacco Week. The concert, which is featuring leading singers such as Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Salim Sulaiman, Neha Bhasin among others, has been organised to help cancer patients complete their treatment during the pandemic.

The proceedings received from the Concert will be used for underprivileged patients who travelled to Mumbai for their cancer treatment but got stranded due to the lockdown. CPAA has been providing them with Monthly ration supplies, guiding them with the shelter facilities along with hygiene kits consisting of masks, sanitizers among others.

Helping these patients further in awareness, management and treatment for cancer, the CPAA, in association with the World Health Organisation (WHO) has organised the musical concert. Eminent singers Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Salim Merchant, Benny Dayal, Shadab Faridi, Neha Bhasin, Dhvani Bhanushali, Jonita Gandhi, Shilpa Rao, Aditi Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi, Akriti Kakkar, Anusha Mani, Mamta Sharma and Rasika, and many more to join along with the well known celebrities are participating in the concert. The concert will be free for all to watch on TIKTOK India’s official handle.

The concert assumes significance as the 150-min of non-stop entertainment gala along with informative content comes from World Health Organization & Cancer Patients Aid Association.

In line with this year’s theme “Protecting youth from industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use” for World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) 2020, CPAA has worked out ‘Differed – Live program” QUIT TOBACCO INDIA, an initiative.  It will also focus on leveraging upon the impact, reach and progressive nature of social media.

Tobacco products kill more than 8 million people every year. Tobacco and related industries must continuously find new consumers to replace the ones that their products are killing to maintain revenue. In India tobacco use kills about 13.5 lakh people per year. Tobacco use is responsible for 25% of all cancer deaths globally. Use of nicotine and tobacco products increases the risk of cancer, cardiovascular and pulmonary disease. Over 1 million people die from second-hand smoke exposure every year. Tobacco companies spent over 8 billion in marketing and advertising and the world lost 8 million lives from causes related to tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke.

Anita Peter, Executive director of CPAA, said that “World No Tobacco Day 2020 will seek to educate policy-makers and the general public with regard to the tobacco industry’s harmful tactics and to alert smokers and potential smokers on the most important preventable cause of death and disease in youngsters. CPAA is proud to be working in the field of cancer for the last 50 years whereby we have helped more than 3000 oral & Lung cancer patients annually and yes during this pandemic Tobacco users have high risk of COVID 19 as smoking weaken their lungs.

Cancer Patients Aid Association is a registered, charitable organization working towards Total Management of Cancer Patients – Awareness to Rehabilitation, since the last 51 years. CPAA assists poor patients by giving them free medical aid, food supplements, prosthesis, transport services besides counseling the patients, offering rehabilitation facilities and Tobacco Control being one of the major activity of the organization. CPAA have been commemorating World No Tobacco initiative since 2003 with the support of WHO for better awareness on health impact of tobacco control and reinforcement of effective laws.

Dancing is like dreaming with your feet. That’s what Bollywood hunk Tiger Shroff is out to prove when he dons his dancing shoes. The young dancing sensation & heartthrob of millions who loves taking on challenges be it with films, stunts, fitness or dancing with élan, unveiled his music video #Areucoming on Friday, February 1, 2019 for his fans and well-wishers making sure all parties will now start at 8PM with the new party mantra of the season.

The stunning music video will have both, young as well as the- not- so- young swaying and swinging to the beats. Produced by Happy Productions India, the music video is choreographed by the talented film director and choreographer Remo D’Souza and sung by versatile Bollywood singer Benny Dayal. The music for this video is composed by talented duo Sachin – Jigar.

Shilpa Surroch sings a duet with her ‘The Voice’ mentor Shaan

Shilpa who has given her voice in various Ad campaigns is all set for yet another one for LG with her co-singer Shaan. Shilpa who is the rising playback singer, was surprised and excited when she learnt that she will be singing duet with her mentor.

During her journey in ‘The Voice’ Shilpa’s dreams came true when she met Shaan, a singer who has magic in his voice and who made romance more real. As a kid Shilpa was inspired by Shaan’s melodic voice that had captured everyone’s heart during the 1990s and still continues to do so. She grew up listening and singing his songs in various competitions and that made her realise where her dreams lie.

In conversation with her, she mentions that,” It was my dream to once meet Shaan Sir; I grew up listening to him and sang his songs that always brought smile on everyone’s face. When I was hired to sing for the LG ad, I had no idea that I would be singing a duet with Shaan Sir, neither did sir know about it. After rehearsing the song for few times Shaan Sir complimented me by saying ‘Great job, now we are singing duet!’ it meant a lot to me. I was spell bounded by the amount energy sir has and I was inspired to give my best!”

Shilpa Surroch’s dream meeting with the living legend

Music reality show star and singer Shilpa Surroch who became a popular name in the industry after she was a contestant on The Voice India Season 2, is a happy girl these days. The singer who has sung for films Ekkees Tareekh Shubh Muhurat, Black Bud, Murari The Mad Gentleman, Game over, Mirror Game and Vikram Bhatt’s shows, recently got an opportunity to meet the legendary Pyarelal of the famous music composer duo Laxmikant – Pyarelal at an event organised by the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association. She said, “It was a blessing to have attended the event and be in the same space as the legendary Pyarelal Ji. They are such talented gems of our country that even listening to their music, you get to learn a lot. If I ever get an opportunity to sing for him or to work under him, it will be an honour and privilege. There are so many young musicians in the country and we all look up to the legendary Laxmikant -Pyarelal.”

Singer Shilpa Surroch bagged a Bollywood film

The event was moderated by Salim Merchant who was also, Shilpa’s Coach during the reality show “The Voice” and Shilpa had a great time clicking pictures with both. She said, “I am looking at a great career in Bollywood and have a huge amount of work to do. Also, now work is not restricted to Bollywood music. There are ample platforms to explore music possibilities and this event was one such reason and space to meet stalwarts of Indian music.”

Singer Shilpa Surroch bagged a Bollywood film

Singer Shilpa Surroch is in a happy space right now. After the singer lent her voice to many television reality shows like ‘Super Dancer’ and ‘India’s best Judwaa’ the singer has bagged a Bollywood film. This is not her first film project. Last, she sang in the film ‘Game Over’ and now she is going to sing for ‘Ekkees Tareekh Shubh Muhurat’. The Music Composer Vicky Prasad, whose last film was “Toilet- Ek Prem Katha” chose her to sing for this film because of her tonal Versatility.

She says, “It has been a tough journey. I am happy that now there are many platforms where big music composers can know of us and we get an opportunity to showcase our talent. I am happy that I have worked with filmmakers like Vikram Bhatt and singers like Benny Dayal, know of my work. It was a learning experience to work with Vicky Prasad. With each new film you learn more and you understand the newer ways to explore your talent. I couldn’t be more grateful”

Besides, ‘Ekkees Tareekh Shubh Muhurat’ the singer has also sung for films like ‘Black Bud’, ‘Murari The Mad Gentleman’ and many more.

Shilpa Surroch wins audiences’ hearts with her captivating voice

Mumbai girl Shilpa Surroch is making heads turn with her soul-stirring numbers. The singer has lent her voice to many television reality shows like Super Dancer, India’s Best Judwaa, LG ad, OLX ads, Myntra ad of Hrithik Roshan and the voice of FM one liners for Red FM. She is the voice behind the title track of famous web series “Twisted”, “Tantra” and “Hadh” by Vikram Bhatt. She recently recorded the title song for web series ‘Maaya-2’. She also performs Live and recently performed for SPYKAR, Nature’s Basket(Godrej), etc.

Ask her about her journey in the field of music and she says, “Indian TV music reality shows give us a great opportunity to showcase our talent. Thanks to The Voice India Season 2” aired on “&TV” many renowned names of the music industry know about my talent and this gave me an opportunity to work with Benny Dayal.”

She was also awarded best singer for ‘Aye Ajnabi-Twisted’ (Web Series by Vikram Bhatt) by Indian Wikimedia Awards, one of the first digital awards curated by AltBalaji. She was also nominated for ITA (India Television Academy) Awards in the best singer category. Not only that, the singer sings in many languages and she sings in Spanish, English and Hindi for Music Mojo (Kappa TV).

While she is still new to Bollywood music, the singer has also sung for films like Black Bud, Murari The Mad Gentleman, Game Over, Mirror Game (International Production House). She says, “It is all about hard work and opportunity. You need to be at the right place and right time. I feel grateful to Vikram Bhatt (filmmaker) for giving me opportunity to sing for him. While she has sung for Indian audiences, Shilpa also got an opportunity to sing rhymes for a Singapore based company – WOW Kidz Junior.

The singer is now looking at a career in Bollywood and wants to sing for more Bollywood films. While she is a name that connects with audiences now, she feels there is more to go. She says, “I have a lot to achieve. Also, now work is not just restricted to Bollywood music. There are a variety of platforms which explore our music talent.”
