Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai with police suspecting suicide. The 34-year-old actor was reportedly found hanging by a domestic help who raised alarm. Bandra Police brought the actor’s body to Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital from his residence. After testing the actor for COVID-19, he has been taken for post mortem. So far, no suicide note is found.
Some of his friends were also at home when his body was discovered. Around 10 am this morning, he went back to his room, after which, he was not seen. The house staff and his friend tried to open the door but in vain. The house staff called a local keymaker. With the help of the duplicate key, they opened the door to discover him hanging. The house help also called the ambulance and the police, who reached his home. The police have found a file which had details of the treatment Sushant Singh Rajput was currently been undergoing. He was suffering from clinical depression for the past six months.
Sushant Singh Rajput became popular with TV show ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He debuted in Bollywood with ‘Kaipo Chhe’ and then starred in Shuddh Desi Romance, PK, MS Dhoni : The Untold Story, Raabta, Kedarnath, Sonchiriya. He was last seen on bog screen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Chhichhore’.
Among unreleased films is Dil Bechara which is an official remake of Hollywood film The Fault In Their Stars. The film was directed by casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Sushant has always been appreciated for the career choices he has made so far – From picking unconventional subjects, living his characters and getting right under the skin of them, to being a great performer and entertainer.
Rajput was born in Patna. He is survived by his elder brother, two sisters and father, Dr KK Singh. Sushant lost his mother in 2002, when he was only 16 years old. In several interviews over the years, Sushant had always spoken of the loss of his mother as a huge blow to him. In fact, his last social media post, from June 3, was also a tribute to his late mother.
Sushant had secured all-India 7th rank in AIEEE and finished his Mechanical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering. He had also won the Physics Olympiad. He joined Shiamak Davar’s dance classes and later joined Barry John’s acting classes to become an actor.
