Sony Entertainment Television celebrates Lata Didi’s legacy with ‘Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar: The Queen in concert’

‘Waqt Badla, Aawaz Sunne Ka Tareeka Badla…Par Dil Ko Choone Waali Aawaz Wahi Rahi’ – This stands true for the late legendary singer, Bharat Ratna Lata Manageshkar. Lovingly known as the ‘Queen of Melody, Lata ji’s beautiful and soulful voice, that moved millions of hearts and soothed many souls for decades, will forever be with us. The legendary singer’s voice not only transcended generations but borders as well. Celebrating the phenomenal artiste of Indian playback singing, Lata Mangeshkar who left a legacy that is unforgettable, Sony Entertainment Television relives the magic with ‘Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar : The Queen in concert’ on 27th February at 1pm.

Just like her iconic classic ‘Naam Gum Jayega, Chehra Yeh Badal Jayega, Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hain…’, Lata Mangeshkar, through her evergreen voice, will be eternally present in all our hearts forever. Her contributions to the field of music are immeasurable and she has played an important role in shaping the country’s musical culture. Some great classic by the legend that still manages to strike the right chord of our hearts are ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai’, ‘Aap ki nazron ne samjha’, ‘Naam Gum Jayega’ and ‘Lag Ja Gale’ amongst others. Relive the magic with the ‘Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar : The Queen in concert’.

On 8 January 2022, Lata Mangeshkar tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital‘s intensive care unit in Mumbai. She remained in the ICU with signs of “marginal improvement” in her health. The doctors treating her had taken her off the ventilator on 28 January after her health “improved marginally”; however, she was back on the ventilator on 5 February, after her health deteriorated, and was undergoing “aggressive therapy”. Mangeshkar died from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome on 6 February 2022, at the age of 92. She had undergone 28 days of constant treatment for pneumonia and COVID-19.
