Sonali Kulkarni, who is well known for her characters in movies like Taxi number 9211, Singham and Dil Chahta Hain was off the records for a while now. However, she was recently captured in an exhibition which also saw the light of discussion over leather manufacture in India. The event was organized by LIDCOM (Leather Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra) who supports the charmakar community (leather manufacturer). The motive of the meeting was to spread awareness about leather manufacture in India and how it’ll help in developing more employment within the country and likewise will increase the trade of Leather.
The event was inaugurated by the cabinet minister Mr Rajkumar Badole along with the IRS managing director of LIDCOM Mr Rajesh F Dhabre. They began with introducing the company and their motive behind enhancing the leather trade in India, post which Cabinet Minister Mr Rajkumar Badole gave in some positive words in support of this association, followed by a supporting speech of Sonali Kulkarni.
“I feel very happy, proud and privileged to be here. I’m very thankful of LIDCOM to have invited me here today. I’m extremely proud to be a Maharashtrian and I’m always up for such initiative that is pushing our culture to a great extent. We’re here to celebrate charmakar the artists who’ve been making such great footwear and leather products for all these years but never received enough glamour or encouragement. Some brands or models have been restricted to a certain area and I’m sure that LIDCOM will take such talent throughout the world and gain the recognition,” says Sonali Kulkarni.
