Social activist Somy Ali opened up about her website, Somyali.com, which was launched almost a decade ago.

“I launched it almost 10 years ago to safeguard memories of my time in Bollywood by having photos from my films in the cloud. There was no specific objective. It was just to cherish memories, good and bad ones,” said the former Bollywood activist, who featured in movies like Anth: A Dream for a Better Tomorrow and Chupp.

She has prominently mentioned a quote – “I think it is necessary for someone who has a platform to raise a voice for the voiceless.”

“It signifies that if we are blessed even in the slightest manner, it is incumbent upon us to help others. Your life has value only if you give value to other lives and you do this by helping those who are screaming yet remain unheard,” said the founder of NGO No More Tears.

She also has NoMoreTearsproject.com. “That was created by a student for her college project and it should have been taken down a while back, but I believe she forgot to do so,” Somy Ali said.

Her websites help her in reaching out to people. “This is how victims find us and donors make financial contributions,” she shared.

It is believed that irrespective of where you live, everything can be global. “We have literally flown a male gay victim from India to Miami because his family was going to have him killed due to his sexual orientation. The internet has changed everything for many individuals. Of course, it depends how it is utilised as there is good and bad online,” said the US-based activist.

Somy Ali through her NGO (No More Tears) gives victims immense amount of love. She says, “It’s not just romantic love, we all need human love too.”
