At a special press conference announcing the Hindi version of Disney’s much-awaited animated sequel Zootopia 2, actress Shraddha Kapoor expressed her excitement about lending her voice to the beloved character of Judy Hopps in Hindi. The film, releasing on November 28, marks Shraddha’s debut as a voice actor in an international animated franchise, and she couldn’t be more thrilled to bring the spirited bunny cop to life for Indian audiences.
Speaking at the event, Shraddha Kapoor shared how closely she relates to Judy’s personality. “Judy Hopps is a character who has a lot in common with me; she has her head firmly on her shoulders, and I could definitely relate to her ‘enthu cutlet’ side. She’s authoritative when she needs to be, yet soft and warm when the moment calls for it. It was a lot of fun being Judy,” she said with a smile. Her enthusiasm and natural energy seemed to perfectly mirror the optimistic and determined spirit of the iconic character.
Shraddha Kapoor also opened up about the unique experience of voice acting, calling it both challenging and liberating. “Giving my voice to an animated character was such a freeing process. As kids, we’d often imitate voices, and now doing it professionally for a bunny who’s funny, brave, and adorable felt amazing. I had to modulate my voice to match her emotions—whether she’s angry, excited, or silly—and that made the experience even more fun. It really pushes you to become the character’s voice, not just play it,” she explained.
A highlight of the event was the screening of a special clip featuring Shraddha’s rendition of Judy Hopps, which received loud applause from the press. The short unit showcased her ability to capture Judy’s essence—her unwavering determination, infectious charm, and emotional depth—confirming that Shraddha was the perfect choice for the role.
