Actor Shilpa Shinde is set to make a much-anticipated return with Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain 2.0, the iconic Edit 2 show by Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli that turned her into a household name. For Shilpa, this comeback feels nothing short of destined. Reflecting on her return, she says with conviction, “I truly believe it’s destiny. And destiny, no matter what, cannot be ignored.”

Shilpa Shinde admits that for a long time, she never imagined herself revisiting the show. “Initially, returning wasn’t even a thought,” she shares candidly. “I don’t forget things easily, and what happened back then stayed with me. But with time, I’ve grown, evolved, and matured a lot.”
A deeply emotional turning point came with the passing of the show’s former writer, Manoj Santoshi. Speaking about him, Shilpa becomes visibly moved. “He always wanted me to come back, but I kept avoiding it. During his final days, I spent a lot of time with him, and something within me shifted. It touched my heart in a way I can’t fully explain.”
When she eventually reconnected with the makers, the timing finally felt right. “There was a positive energy. I felt we were all aligned and wanted the same thing,” she says.
Another moment that sealed her decision came through co-star Aasif Sheikh. Recalling a simple yet powerful exchange, Shilpa shares, “I called Aasif ji on Eid, and he just said, ‘Aa jao, Shilpa.’ After that, everything fell into place.”
Addressing the conversation around replacements, Shilpa is clear and firm. “I am the original Bhabiji. There is no question of replacing anyone,” she states.
Describing her return, she adds emotionally, “It feels like reclaiming my baby. The character, the nuances, the soul—everything belonged to me. Even after being away for nearly a decade, I’m continuing from where I left off.”
Calling this chapter a fresh beginning, Shilpa says confidently, “This is Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! 2.0. And today, I am much more than just Angoori.”
On the controversies surrounding her earlier exit, she remains grounded. “In every show, people come and go for different reasons. Replacements are never easy to accept, and that’s natural. Right now, it’s all about acceptance.”
She concludes on a heartfelt note, “People are free to express their opinions, but for me, this return is a huge step. I’m coming back to acting after a long time—and that makes it incredibly special.”
