Veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away at 66 in Delhi. He went to Delhi for Holi celebration. During celebration he felt uneasy and was taken to hospital. Doctors tried to save his life but unfortunately could not. Then his body was taken to Deendayal Hospital for postmortem. After that his body will be brought to Mumbai and last rites will be performed.
His friend and colleague Anupam Kher wrote, “I know “death is the ultimate truth of this world!” But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!”

Born on 13 April 1956 in Mahendragarh, Haryana, Satish Kaushik started his career with theatre and went on to act in Hindi cinema. He also directed a number of films. He was alumnus of National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. He married to Shashi Kaushik in 1985. His son Shanu died in 1996 when he was only two years old. His daughter Vanshika was born through a surrogate mother.

Satish Kaushik will be always remembered as Calendar in film Mr. India. He also acted in Deewana Mastana, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Who 7 Din, Masoom, Utsav, Saagar, Kaash, Thar and many more. He also acted in many TV serials. His first film as director was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and directed Prem, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rahete Hain. He also wrote dialogues and screenplay of few films. He won the ‘Filmfare Best Comedian award twice, in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
