Rohitashv Gour portrayal of Manmohan Tiwari in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ has been making the audiences’ laugh since the beginning. The actor’s performance and the different shades of the character that got highlighted over the years earned accolades.
Rohitashv Gour has been a part of the show for over six years. We ask if as an actor it gets monotonous to do the same thing for so many years and he answers, “I keep a watch on myself and do something new every time to kill the monotony. The good thing about Bhabhiji… is that the stories are always different. This role has given me a lot. I remember a fan from Bareily had once said, ‘Tiwari ji, arrey humne bhi kacche baniyan ka dhandha shuru kar diya hai, aur aapko jaan kar bohot khushi hogi ki humara khokha bohot accha chal raha hai’. People have been showering love on the show since the beginning but in between there have been times when weren’t going good. Yes but we made sure that the boat keeps sailing by introducing changes and managed to keep the show going.
Sharing about Covid adding much scare initially, the actor adds that they are still following precautions but the fear is slowing fading than what it was last year.
“The vaccination process for the entire cast and crew is almost done, so that fear is not like how it was in the beginning. The very first day we resumed shooting after the unlock was announced I felt like Covid is there in every corner of the set, and we used to stay inside our rooms, wearing double masks, kept our face, head, even legs covered. We literally used to cover our whole body. But now we have been feeling so much relieved,” he says.
The actor shares that the journey during Covid would not have been possible without the support from his family. He is often seen sharing photos and videos with his wife and daughters.
“I have always had my family’s support, especially my wife Rekha Gaud. She is like a shield to me. This industry sometimes tries to fool or take advantage of you and during such times you need your family’s support. Also, the kind of erratic schedule we have, our family life goes for a toss, so you need understanding people at home. Your home is where you distress. I also stay from troubles at work to keep my mind stress free. I always believe living life in peace. Running after everything or worrying after every little thing makes life a mess. I have seen this happening with a few people. I like the way my friends Sanjay Mishra, Vineet Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi live a relaxed life,” he says.
Talking about working with Sanjay Kohli and Binaiferr Kohli, Rohitashv Gour adds, “My relationship with Sanjay sir and Binaiferr ma’am has only got better with time. They understand me well. As an actor I believe in going to the set on time, do my work and come back home. For me professionalism and dedication matter more than anything else.”
