Renowned choreographer Rajit Dev is thrilled about his latest project, Aaye Haaye, featuring Karan Aujla and Nora Fatehi. Calling it an extra special endeavor, he shares his excitement about the song’s potential to be a massive hit.
“Every project I take on is a fresh and unique experience,” says Rajit Dev. “This song is special in so many ways. It features the current hitmaker, Karan Aujla, and the queen of hearts, Nora Fatehi, which already sets it apart. I always choreograph based on the vibe and feel of the song, and for Aaye Haaye, my team and I jammed together during rehearsals to create the perfect choreography.”
Rajit Dev has a longstanding association with Nora Fatehi, having worked with her on several music videos. Reflecting on their collaboration, he shares, “I’ve had the privilege of choreographing most of Nora’s music videos. It’s a challenge to bring something new every time, but it pushes both of us to deliver our best. I know her strengths and weaknesses, which helps me design movements that suit her. This time, it was particularly tough because she had just recovered from an ankle injury. Despite her swollen foot, she danced tirelessly in the sand during the shoot, and you’d never notice her discomfort from her performance. Her dedication to her craft inspires me endlessly.”
For Rajit Dev, choreographing Nora is always a creative delight. “Nora is every choreographer’s dream because she allows us to experiment and push boundaries. Our collaboration feels like the modern-day version of iconic pairings like Saroj Ji with Madhuri Ma’am or Govinda with Ganesh Masterji. People always say that when it’s a Nora X Rajit combo, it’s going to be a banger, and that motivates me.”
Aaye Haaye also marked Rajit Dev first collaboration with Karan Aujla, making the project even more memorable. “Karan has never danced in any of his songs before, but for this one, I wanted to create a signature hook step for him. During the shoot, I taught him the step in just 10 minutes in his vanity van, and he was so cooperative and enthusiastic. We jammed together and made the step look incredibly cool. It’s heartwarming to see the praise Karan is receiving for his moves in the song.”
Rajit Dev concludes by sharing how meaningful the project has been for him: “We all created such wonderful memories while shooting Aaye Haaye. This song is a testament to the magic that happens when passion and collaboration come together.”
