Rajesh Mapuskar to direct web series on ‘Gandhi’s assassination’

National award winning director Rajesh Mapuskar who also won three Marathi Filmfare awards for his Priyanka Chopra produced ‘Ventilator’ is set to direct a digital web series based on Manohar Malgaonkar’s book ‘ The men who killed Gandhi’ which unveils the incidents and events happened during and post Gandhi’s assassination.

Rajesh Mapuskar is a well known writer and director who made his directorial debut from his well acclaimed film ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ in 2012 and later also directed many Ad films.

Now Rajesh Mapuskar is set to co-produce as well as direct web series on assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in collaboration with Vikram Malhotra led Abundantia Entertainment who gave this industry hits like Airlift, Baby, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha. As Rajesh Mapuskar is very excited to direct this web series on Gandhi whose thoughts has been very impactful on his mind when he was working as an assistant director for Lage Raho Munnabhai directed by Raju hirani. While sharing his excitement for the project he says, “History fascinates me, I got immersed in this huge slice of history, Bapu when I worked on Lage Raho Munnabhai. Twelve years after that When Vikram came to me with the proposal to make The Men Who Killed Gandhi, I didn’t hesitate and immediately said yes! With this project I was getting the chance to work on a project about Bapu. To investigate and understand other side of things. I hope I can do justice to the project.”
