Shweta Tripathi has successfully wrapped up the shoot of her upcoming feature film Palkon Pe, completing an intense and creatively demanding schedule in Bhopal. The film went on floors in December last year and was shot extensively across multiple locations in and around the city, following a continuous start-to-finish schedule that challenged the cast and crew both physically and emotionally.
Palkon Pe stars Shweta Tripathi, Abhishek Chauhan, and Eshan Naqvi, and is written and directed by acclaimed ad filmmaker Niddhish Puuzhakkal, known for his distinctive visual language and his ability to weave psychological depth into storytelling. With this film, Niddhish ventures into socially conscious cinema, crafting an intimate drama that delves into complex themes such as gender equality, mental health, sexuality, and divorce—subjects often glossed over or spoken about in hushed tones. The narrative is anchored in the character of Shraddha Agarwal, portrayed by Shweta Tripathi, through whose journey the film examines these layered realities with sensitivity and honesty.
Produced by Rahul Gandhi’s Tamboo Entertainment in association with Saleem Javed’s Zaria Entertainment, Palkon Pe is envisioned as a powerful social commentary—one that seeks to spark meaningful conversations while remaining deeply rooted in emotional authenticity. The film is slated for release in 2026.
Reflecting on the completion of the shoot, Shweta Tripathi shared that filming across Bhopal on a gruelling, uninterrupted schedule pushed everyone to their limits, but also fostered a sense of camaraderie that found its way into the performances. She revealed that what drew her to Palkon Pe was the courage of its storytelling and its refusal to shy away from uncomfortable questions. Praising director Niddhish Puuzhakkal, she noted his rare ability to approach human behaviour with a psychologist’s sensitivity, allowing silence, discomfort, and vulnerability to speak as powerfully as dialogue.
Shweta also spoke warmly about collaborating with co-actors Abhishek Chauhan and Eshan Naqvi, calling the experience deeply enriching and marked by sincerity and mutual respect. She added that the story stayed with her long after the camera stopped rolling and expressed hope that it would resonate just as deeply with audiences.
With a strong creative team, socially relevant themes, and compelling performances, Palkon Pe promises to be a meaningful and impactful addition to contemporary Indian cinema when it releases in 2026.
