For decades, Marathi cinema has reflected the pulse of society — portraying its struggles, values, and transformations through powerful storytelling. Continuing this proud legacy, the upcoming Marathi film Nirdhar promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking journey that mirrors the times we live in while igniting a sense of purpose and patriotism. The film is all set to release across Maharashtra on November 28th.

The first teaser poster of Nirdhar was unveiled with divine blessings at the sacred Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi. The event was graced by Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Trustee Mr. Mahesh Mudaliar, producer Padmaja Walavalkar, director Dilip Bhopale, and the film’s cast and crew. The poster immediately caught everyone’s attention — its bold tricolor theme and intense visuals evoke a deep sense of national pride and curiosity about the story that awaits.
Produced under the banner of Jayalakshmi Creations, Nirdhar is written by Dinanath Walavalkar and directed by Dilip Bhopale. The film stars veteran actor Dr. Girish Oak and talented young actor Saurabh Gogate in pivotal roles, supported by an impressive ensemble cast. Judging by the poster, the film seems to revolve around a gripping ideological conflict, portraying how the youth rises against corruption and injustice. The story delves into how a determined generation challenges a flawed system — striving to destroy the corrupt forces and inspire change.
Producer Padmaja Walavalkar shared that her motivation to make Nirdhar came from a deep sense of social responsibility. “While living and working in society, I always felt I owed something to it. Nirdhar was born from that very emotion — it’s a film that aims to inspire, uplift, and awaken determination among people,” she said.
The film’s technical team includes Atul Supare as the cinematographer, Vicky Bidkar handling art direction, Atul Shidhaye on makeup, and Prashant Parkar designing costumes. Pickle Entertainment will distribute the film. With its powerful message, emotional depth, and stellar performances, Nirdhar is poised to make a strong impact and reaffirm Marathi cinema’s ability to spark meaningful conversations about society’s conscience.
