Mubeen Saudagar feels social media has changed our lives in many ways. The comedian and actor talks about the revolution called the internet in detail.
“We make sure we look good and are at our best at all times because there are people watching or reading about us from everywhere possible. We want to ensure that it’s always good for people to see us. Being a part of the entertainment industry, we understand the importance of visibility,” says Mubeen, who made his debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s Radhe.
People follow celebrities and emulate them especially via social media, the reason why the former needs to be careful about how they put themselves out there.
“I have learnt with time that social media is equally important for an artist. You have to be seen everywhere, stay active whenever possible, showcase your best talent and engage with your set of audience. I have, with time, taken social media seriously and I’m happy to be learning new things every day. It’s like you are with the trend. I would suggest everyone to please be active on social media and put across the best on table for people to know you better and learn from you. Don’t misuse it,” urges Mubeen Saudagar, who has been a part of shows such as Comedy Champions, Pehchan Kaun, Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai, Comedy Circus, Comedy Classes and Comedy Nights Bachao.
On the whole obsession around the follower game, he adds, “Sadly that is real. On my part, I hope to create good engagement for myself as well. It feels good to be appreciated by the maximum numbers possible. The more the merrier, but then that has to be organic.”
Many feel the world of social media is fake, yet the same people want attention on it. “Well it depends on person to person how they take or deal with social media. There are endless opportunities here. Also who does not love attention? That’s a positive thing. I love my set of audience, they are super supportive. I feel blessed all the time because of their love,” he continues talking about how social media has become an ego massage tool, “It varies from one person to another. I focus on making myself better all the time, keep my audience entertained and that’s only helping me grow.”
Talking about trolls, Mubeen Saudagar says, “There is good and bad in this world. So if I have people who love me, I should also be able to accept people who don’t. It’s like different people, different perspectives. As far as I just ignore them as I’m too focused on people who love me.”
