Actress Nimisha Sajayan, who is playing the lead role in the much talked about Malayalam film ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’, is making her Marathi film debut. She will be seen in the upcoming movie “Hawahawai” directed by Mahesh Tilekar, which will be released on April 1.
Mahesh Tilekar of Marathi Taraka Productions and Vijay Shinde of Ninety Nine Productions have produced “Hawahawai”. Nimisha Sajayan’s performance in “The Great Indian Kitchen” was liked by Mahesh Tilekar and he asked her if she is ready to work in Marathi films and Nimisha said yes.
Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Jayaprada, Helen had made their Marathi debut in Mahesh Tilekar’s earlier films. Apart from that, Senthil Kumar, the cameraman of “Baahubali” was given his first opportunity in Marathi film industry by Mahesh Tillekar through his film “Aadhar”.
Along with “The Great Indian Kitchen”, Nimisha’s performance in Naittu, Maalik has also been appreciated. Malayalam films have created an audience in the country and abroad due to the different subjects and easy acting of the actors. Nimisha’s much talked about film ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ has been well received by the Marathi audience as well.
Mahesh Tillekar said that he decided to give Nimisha his first break in Marathi films as the role in the film “Hawahawai” was suitable for her. While southern film’s remake are made in other languages, Mahesh Tillekar has started a new trend of bringing the best actors from the South in Marathi films through Hawahawai.
Some famous Marathi actors including Nimish Sajayan have roles in this film and many new actors have also been given a chance in this film. Veteran singer Asha Bhosale has sung a song for the movie “Hawahawai” at the age of 88. So there is already curiosity about this film. Now that Nimisha Sajayan is making her Marathi debut in this movie, the curiosity about this movie has increased even more. But for that, the audience will have to wait till April 1.
