After enchanting audiences across India, Rahhat Shah Kazmi’s cross-Asian romance Love in Vietnam is now gearing up for a major new milestone — a theatrical release in South Korea. The India–Vietnam collaboration, already celebrated as a pan-Asian favourite, has recently sparked remarkable buzz among Korean viewers. With fan edits going viral and Korean audiences expressing growing fascination with its emotional depth and cultural interplay,Love in Vietnam has organically built a strong following even ahead of its official release. Adding to this momentum is Korean singer Seaya, who appears in the film; her latest Korean track — visually and emotionally connected to Love in Vietnam — has exploded across social media, further fuelling curiosity.
Shantanu Maheshwari, who leads the film opposite Avneet Kaur, describes the moment as “surreal in the best way possible.” Reflecting on the unexpected connection with Korean audiences, he shares, “What touches me most is how deeply Korean fans respond to the small emotional details in the film Love in Vietnam. They notice nuances we never imagined anyone outside India or Vietnam would pick up. That kind of sensitivity is rare.” He adds that he has long admired Korean artistic culture, and Love in Vietnam release there feels like “life coming full circle.” Expressing his eagerness to visit Korea during the release, he says, “I’d love to meet the audiences and understand what the film made them feel. Every bit of love we’re receiving means the world.”
For Avneet Kaur, the Korean release feels like “a dream I didn’t even know I had.” She is particularly moved by the grace with which Korean viewers express admiration. “There’s something incredibly charming about the way Korean audiences appreciate stories and people — especially the chivalry of Korean men. It makes the whole world smile, including me,” she says. Calling the Korean theatrical debut a gift, she adds, “I want to be there when the film Love in Vietnam releases, to absorb their energy and thank them for embracing our story. All I feel right now is gratitude and excitement.”
