In Indian kitchens, curry leaves are known for their aroma and indispensable role in food culture. Now, that very essence travels from cuisine to cinema with the upcoming Marathi film Kadhipatta. From its intriguing title to its refreshing lead pair, the film has been creating quite a buzz. After building curiosity with posters and first looks, the makers have now dropped the much-awaited teaser. True to its name, netizens have already tagged it as “spicy,” and the short glimpse has amplified audience excitement. The film is set for a grand release across Maharashtra on November 7.
Presented by Yuvan Productions and produced by Swapnil Yuvraj Marathe, Kadhipatta is directed and written by Vishwa. The teaser offers an engaging peek into a love story that begins on a sweet note but takes an unexpected turn. In Maharashtrian folk tradition, “Ukhaana” — playful verses recited at weddings — holds cultural charm. Interestingly, the teaser opens with this ritual. The hero says, “Marriages are tied in heaven, today I take Mira’s name for my verse.” The heroine responds with her own verse: “In heaven’s witness, I promise my wedding vow, Lalit is my beloved, my jaaneman.” But the teaser closes with a shocker: this very couple heads for divorce. What lies between their vows and separation is the heart of the story, leaving audiences intrigued.
The film stars Bhushan Patil in the lead, while South Indian actress Riddhi Kumar makes her Marathi debut, bringing fresh chemistry to the screen.
