Filmmaker Karan Razdan’s film Hindutva is all set to release on October 7 in theaters across the country. Produced by Jaikara Films and Lord Shiva Communications, a Pragunbharat presentation, the film is written, produced and directed by Karan Razdan and has young talents Aashiesh Sharrma, Sonarika Bhadoria and Ankit Raj in lead roles. The film’s motion poster was released today revealing the release date.
The lead actor of film Aashiesh Sharrma, while sharing the motion poster of the film on social media, wrote, “The truth we are deprived of, the truth now that we have to tell, it is not a story, it is the voice of truth. It is great honor and pride that we bring the film to the theaters on 7 October 2022.
Filmmaker Karan Razdan shares, “Hindutva is all about love, friendship, student politics and the true essence of Hinduism. The film will unfold details about Hinduism which even some Hindus in the country don’t know about.”
He further said, “There has been a lot of discussion in the media, especially in the political circles, that there is a big difference between Hinduism and Hindutva. Where Hinduism is considered a peaceful way of life, while Hindutva is characterized as fundamentalist and extremist. And Hindus who follow Hindutva are being portrayed as fundamentalists. These people do not understand that Hinduism translated in Hindi literally means Hindutva. It does not mean Hinduism, because Hinduism is not a religion. So what is its literal translation, this is Hindutva. My film actually goes ten steps ahead and tells these so called secularists what Hindutva really means. A lot of Hindus are being portrayed wrongly by Bollywood, be it us people or our Gods and Goddesses, all have been shown by Bollywood either in a negative or in a ridiculous way. Both are unacceptable to me and that’s how my film was born. Whether it is in India or all over the world, a wrong meaning and message of Hindutva is being spread. I want to say this directly.”
Karan Razdan who has written films like Dilwale, Trimurti, Dushmani, Diljale and directed films like Girlfriend and Mr. Bhatti on Chutti, has always tapped different and bold subjects and his upcoming movie Hindutva also is unique in its own way.
