Sasural Genda Phool actress Harshali Zine doesn’t let people’s comments bother her as her mind is in a secure and safe place.
“I have a very different perspective towards time, space and age. It’s up to an individual to think who they think they are. A mortal being living a 3-dimensional reality on earth or an immortal being living multi-dimensional realities in all the possible planes in the multiverse, I believe in the latter. What people think or perceive of, is not my place to judge. Long story short, only mortals have age. Wisdom is to let people think for themselves,” she said.
Age shaming has become a common thing in the public space, especially on social media. Harshali Zine thinks that everybody is just projecting themselves. “Everybody’s reacting to their reflection. Why should I take it personally? It has nothing to do with me. I send them healing. I’m in control of how I feel about myself,” she said. Calling someone uncle and aunty sarcastically is very common, but she doesn’t care how someone addresses her. “I have never had to face such a situation, but even if someone teases me by calling me names, it’s not going to trigger me. My mind is in a very secure and safe place. I take charge of how I feel about myself and things around me. Only that matters to me,” she said. Workplace age discrimination is also very common. Asked if she has ever lost a project because of her age or got one because she is young, Harshali Zine said, “I don’t see it that way. If they discriminate and put my name in a certain bracket, I don’t acknowledge it. It’s that simple. People are there to judge and limit you. That’s their job. My job is to keep renewing myself and confuse them to such an extent that they put me in an open category.”
Commenting on the best way to deal with ageism, she shared, “I don’t believe in that concept.”
