Khabhi Khabhi Itefaq Sey actress Delnaaz Irani has opened up about changing trends in TV shows in 2022.
Asked how television shows are going to evolve in terms of content in 2022, she said, “We have already seen a change as far as TV shows are concerned. We are already seeing a lot of changes in the way of writing. We had enough of saas-bahu, now people are interested in the real-life characters.”
“Talking about Anupamaa, every woman feels connected to her for some reason, and that’s the reason the show is doing so well, even Imli and Gum Hai Kissi Ke Pyar Me and now my show Khabhi Khabhi Itefaq Sey. This show will take you in the zone of the ’80s and you will feel happiness as it is a story of every house. There is no major drama and action,” she added.
According to Delnaaz Irani, OTT is a medium where there is great content made. “TV is never going to die as the TV audience will be there. OTT has its own charm as it has helped writers and performers to be busy in a time when people didn’t have work.
“When we were all in lockdown, I was talking to my mother and maasi on how they should start watching OTT. They were watching, but they all said that TV is TV. My mother loves Sai Baba, Ahilya Bai, Bade Acche Lagte Hai etc. There is a wide TV audience that is not going anywhere. Every medium has its loyal audience. TV is daal chawal.” She thinks that people are experimenting and doing different things as far as content goes. “Be it any platform, every person out there is trying to give something new. Every show that one sees today is different. There are different storylines. Every production house is trying to make its own niche which is beautiful and that is what we need,” she said.
