Chirag Khatri opens up on his show Dil Ko Rafuu Karr Lei

Actor Chirag Khatri, who is part of the show Dil Ko Rafuu Karr Lei, says that he is confident that the show will do well. The actor adds that the show is being compared to successful Pakistani dramas, Turkish dramas and even K-dramas. “It feels amazing to be part of such as show, honestly. As if you’ve scored really well after working hard for the exams. A lot of thought and hardwork has been put into this show, so it feels great to see it get the attention it deserves,” he says.

Chirag Khatri adds, “I’m not surprised by the comparison. Pakistani and Turkish dramas have truly set the benchmark for content and with this show we’ve not only tried to emulate that feel and quality, but tried to go beyond what they bring to the table. The show is truly one of it’s kind and it feels proud to see your baby get the recognition, it deserves.” Chirag Khatri says that the fact that the show is a limited series is working for it. “We’re giving the audience a beginning, a middle and an end. We’re not keeping them hanging for hundreds of episodes with mindless twists that add nothing to the story. It’s a full course meal we’re serving and that’s why it works,” he says.

Chirag Khatri adds, “I have always believed that shows on the Indian television start off with a pure idea but then the numbers game takes over. The quality drops as engagement and TRPs are given more importance. The writing quality takes a backseat and to maintain that number, the show needs to introduce twists after twists, even if they don’t make sense. And the audience is smart to understand that. They can sense when they are being taken for a ride. So they naturally, change the channel or turn off the television and ultimately lose interest.”
