The talented actor Arjan Bajwa will be seen essaying a pivotal role in ZEE5’s upcoming Original series, Chhabbis Gyarah which is based on Sandeep Unnithan’s book – Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11.
The eight-episode series unravels the untold stories and is a true to account narrative of the various events that turned into the prolonged terror siege of Mumbai on 26th November 2008.
Arjan will be seen essaying the role of Colonel Kunal Sahota, the commanding NSG officer who was in charge of the Black Tornado mission. He was the mentor and guide for all the commandos. He personally handpicked the team which seized the terror attack.
In the first look reveal image Arjan Bajwa is spotted with a deep embed scar across his cheek which leaves you stunned and sombre. The scar is the testimony of a previous heroic operation the colonel was been part of in Nagaland where a bullet went through his cheek and exited through his neck.
He is reffered to as the ‘bullet catcher’ by the other black commandos. The colonel has experience, wit and immense courage and Arjan Bajwa spent some time with him to understand the many layers of his personality.
Sharing his experience, Arjan Bajwa said, “When I was offered the role, I immediately looked up the internet to know more about the officer however, there were only a few mentions and video clips available. I hope after this series audiences at large will learn about this Indian hero who was the backbone of the entire operation. I am humbled that I got the opportunity to essay this role and I cannot wait for it to premiere on ZEE5.”
Produced and created by Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe Pictures and co-created and directed by Matthew Leutwyler, the gripping narrative provides a first-hand account of the tragedy that befell Mumbai, the city of dreams. The series will shed light on hitherto unknown facts about the entire incident.
