National award winning director, Arun Shankar has been looking for his lead actor for quite some time to essay the central character of Naren in his next film based on a social cause. Arun says, “I auditioned several actors before locking down on Ruthvik Reddy.
Ruthvik was in US, when he got to know from someone that I am making this film. He tried to get in touch with me for an audition. I had sent him the scene that was being circulated to everybody for auditions and when I saw his video, I didn’t feel that he could pull it off. When he didn’t hear from me, he reached out to me again, to get more specific details about this character and wanted to send me another audition. I was impressed by his zeal to put in more efforts for an audition in which he was initially not accepted. It took him multiple auditions and character tests before I became very sure that he will play the lead actor. The rest of the casting is still going on.”
Ruthvik born and brought up in Hyderabad, has always been passionate about performing arts. He is a graduate in acting from the Lee Strasberg theatre and film Institute in New York.
After Jubin Nautiyal, Arun Shankar has roped in Badshah to sing the first opening track of the film, which will be Badshah’s forte, a party dance number for the film.
The film should roll in January 2020.
