Actor Armaan Khera, who has carved his own path with impactful performances in films like Taish and Baby John and in acclaimed series such as Masaba Masaba, Citadel, and Songs of Paradise, recently opened up about his journey in Netflix’s latest release Bads of Bollywood. The series, which also marks Aryan Khan’s much-talked-about directorial debut, sees Armaan essay the role of Sameer opposite Sahher Bambba.

Interestingly, the project came to Armaan Khera in the most unexpected way. Reminiscing about the moment, he shares, “It was like a proper Entourage moment! I was shooting for Citadel, dressed in my assassin outfit, in the middle of a forest with tigers nearby, when I called Karan Mally asking, ‘Why haven’t I heard from you?’ That’s when the audition for Bads came up. The moment I was told it was Aryan’s debut as a director, I said yes without a second thought.”
The audition soon followed once Armaan Khera was back in Mumbai, and his performance was said to have impressed the team instantly. His first script reading with Aryan happened at the Red Chillies office. “I wasn’t excited because he’s SRK’s son; I was excited because Aryan has an aura of someone who’s here to make a mark. That first read confirmed the journey ahead was going to be something special,” he recalls.
Adding a lighter touch, Armaan Khera revealed Aryan’s unique directorial style. “Aryan was literally the Brief! He’d act out my part almost every time he explained a scene. It was so helpful and at the same time hilarious. It showed how deeply invested he was, and that passion was contagious,” Armaan said.
Speaking about his co-stars, Armaan Khera praised them warmly: “Aryan is already one of my favourite directors—focused, enthusiastic, and a true perfectionist. Sahher is such a generous co-star, kind and curious. And Bobby Deol? An absolute vibe—legendary, approachable, and the kind of energy that makes the industry feel like one big family.”
With Bads of Bollywood now streaming on Netflix, Armaan’s heartfelt performance and Aryan Khan’s assured debut behind the camera have been widely applauded, making this collaboration one of the season’s most exciting highlights.
