Tuesday, January 15 is celebrated as Army Day and musician Abhijit Ghoshal made it really worthwhile for the families of army officers in Mumbai. At Mira Road sector 3, around 160 personnel from Armed Forces, including widows of martyrs, were felicitated at an event by civilians staying in Srishti sec 3. Abhijit paid a tribute by rendering a beautiful song composed by himself and written by Suresh Tiwari Yassh.
Abhijit says, “Every song that I compose comes from heartfelt emotions. This song was made for the martys and their supreme sacrifice for the Motherland. Seeing the tears in everyone’s eyes was the testimony that the song touched their hearts n emotions. It said- भारत माँ की सेवा में लगा हर सैनिक मेरा भाई है (Every soldier serving the motherland is my brother)।”
Abhijit’s music instantly struck a chord not only with the masses but also with the persons in uniform which is a matter of great pride. Abhijit has won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 11 times. Ghoshal is now an acclaimed singer in Bollywood and he performs in 14 different languages. He has worked with popular artists like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Kavita Krishnamurti, Shaan, Louiz Banks and many more.
A versatile singer, Ghoshal, who has successfully sung Bollywood songs, Geets n Ghazals is now a name in the Bhajan segment- the devotional genre of music. He has sung soulful bhajans of Sai, Kabeer, Tulsi, Durga, Kali, Nirgun, and Sufi. Ghoshal also launched his new album based on Sai Bhajans, ‘Sainath Aao’ last year.
