Aamhi Doghi, as the name depicts, is the story of two girls who despite different mindsets and yet inseparable, follow diverse paths with the same goal. The story is about Amala, played by Mukta Barve, and Savitri Sardeshmukh played by Priya Bapat who are all set to meet you on February 16 at theatres near you in Maharashtra.
It is for the first time ever, the two talented actresses Mukta Barve and Priya Bapat have acted together in the main roles in a Marathi movie. The versatile Pratima Joshi makes her directional debut with Aamhi Doghi in the film presented by Everest Entertainment.
While Mukta Barve presents a character of a wife with a rural background who is unaccustomed to the urban life, with a stellar role, Priya Bapat, unlike her other roles, plays a very unusual character that too in different looks representing three different ages, with her strong and performance oriented personality. “Act quickly as it comes to mind or else you end up regretting,” is the philosophy Savitri represents in her life. Mukta Barve is a talented and young actress from Marathi film industry. She has acted in several TV serials and plays that have won her accolades and awards. She was shot to the fame from her role in critically acclaimed Marathi film Jogwa. Priya Bapat, too, has acted in Marathi as well as hit Hindi films. Her roles in hit Marathi films have won her awards. Her lead role in Kaksparsh was widely appreciated by film critic and film goers as well. Director Pratima Joshi has assisted noted director Chandrakant Kulkarni in as many as ten hit Marathi films including national award winner Ajacha Divas Majha.
