True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. is set to re-release the 2002 romantic thriller Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa in cinemas nationwide on February 13, 2026, bringing the film back to the big screen 24 years after its original theatrical run.
Directed by Kuku Kohli, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa was among the notable box-office performers of 2002 and continues to be remembered for its sweeping romance, scale and popular music. Notably, the film has never been released on any OTT or satellite platform, making this theatrical re-release a rare opportunity for audiences to revisit—or discover—the film in cinemas.

Kuku Kohli is a familiar name in Hindi commercial cinema and is best known for introducing Ajay Devgn in Phool Aur Kaante (1991), whose iconic opening bike-split sequence remains one of Bollywood’s most talked-about debut moments. Over the years, Kohli has directed several mainstream entertainers including Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Zulmi and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa. The film also marked the launch of actors Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma and went on to achieve cult status. Its music, released under the Tips Music label, continues to enjoy strong popularity, with songs frequently featuring on chartbuster playlists even today.

Starring Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma, the re-release is being positioned as a nostalgia-driven theatrical experience. Despite its absence from digital platforms, the film has retained audience interest over the years. For the re-release, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa has been re-edited to align with contemporary viewing sensibilities and has received fresh certification from the CBFC.
Shailendra Mandowara of True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., who has been active in film distribution and production for over 24 years and had earlier re-released the cult classic Tujhe Meri Kasam, said, “Certain films are meant only for theatres, and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa is one of them. Its absence from satellite and OTT was a conscious decision. After the encouraging response to Tujhe Meri Kasam, bringing this film back to cinemas felt like a natural progression.”

Director Kuku Kohli added, “This film was designed for the big screen—the music, emotions and scale work best when experienced collectively. I’m glad a new generation will now get to watch it the way audiences did in 2002.”
Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa releases in cinemas across India on February 13, 2026.
