Junglee Pictures has officially announced its collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta for an ambitious tentpole feature film, to be directed by Gupta himself. The partnership brings together two creative powerhouses celebrated for crafting compelling, rooted stories that strike a strong emotional chord with audiences while delivering impact at scale.
Raj Kumar Gupta, one of the most versatile filmmakers in Indian cinema, is best known for hard-hitting and successful films such as Raid, Raid 2, No One Killed Jessica, and Aamir. With a distinctive storytelling voice rooted in realism, sharp social observation, and mass appeal, Gupta has carved a unique space for himself. Fresh off the success of Raid 2—which emerged as one of the top 10 highest-grossing theatrical releases of 2025—he continues to demonstrate an exceptional ability to balance authenticity with commercial entertainment, creating narratives that are emotionally charged, intense, and enduring.
This sensibility aligns seamlessly with Junglee Pictures’ creative ethos. Over the years, the studio has built a formidable filmography by championing meaningful, disruptive, and conversation-starting cinema across genres. From its early success with Dil Dhadakne Do to blockbuster and critically acclaimed titles like Badhaai Ho, Raazi, Talvar, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Badhaai Do, Junglee Pictures has consistently delivered films that resonate deeply with audiences. More recently, its 2025 releases Haq and the Malayalam film Ronth received widespread appreciation during their theatrical and streaming runs.
The yet-untitled film has completed scripting, with casting set to commence shortly. It is said to promise a gripping, intense narrative that reflects Gupta’s signature style while pushing creative boundaries in terms of scale and impact.
