Bollywood writer-director Adarsh Jain marked a significant literary and cinematic moment with the launch of his English book India Is My Country at Hotel Holiday Inn, Delhi. The book was unveiled in the presence of actor Rahul Roy, remembered fondly for his iconic role in the 1990 Bollywood classic Aashiqui, along with several notable guests including Vikas Singh, Shahid Shams, Achala Adarsh Jain, and Sanjay Bhushan Patiala.

Speaking at the launch, Adarsh Jain shared that India Is My Country is rooted in the real-life stories of people living in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), highlighting their struggles, aspirations, and desire to live as part of India. He emphasised that the narrative presented in the book is based on factual accounts and lived experiences. The book also serves as the foundation for his upcoming Hindi film Bharat Desh Hai Mera, which is set for release soon.
The film by Adarsh Jain features Padma Shri Anup Jalota in the pivotal role of Mohammad Shafi Pandit, a Pakistani activist who wishes to join India. Jain elaborated on how Kashmiri Pandits in PoK were forcibly converted and had their names altered, yet many continued to retain the surname “Pandit” as a marker of identity and resistance. According to Jain, despite facing pressure and hostility, they firmly assert that India is their original homeland—a sentiment that forms the emotional core of both the book and the film.
While the English edition of India Is My Country written by Adarsh Jain is now available, a Hindi version is slated for release shortly. Bharat Desh Hai Mera will be released simultaneously across India, aiming to reach a wide audience. Jain stated that the objective of both the book and the film is to raise awareness about the plight of PoK residents and their ongoing struggle, adding that the project has been receiving widespread support. The film’s trailer is expected to be released soon on InMusic.
Producer Achala Jain noted that the film strongly underlines patriotism and honours the sacrifices of Indian soldiers. She praised Anup Jalota’s powerful performance, both as an actor and a singer. Scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026, the film by Adarsh Jain will be released in five languages and features multiple songs designed to evoke national pride and unity.
Produced under the banner of Adarsh Jain Films, Bharat Desh Hai Mera is written, produced, and directed by Adarsh Jain, with co-producers Achala Jain and Yamini Jain. The film boasts an extensive ensemble cast and a seasoned technical team, promising a cinematic experience rooted in patriotism, emotion, and India’s enduring spirit of unity in diversity.
