Award-winning composer-singer duo Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes, better known as Shor Police, return with a profoundly immersive musical experience for Netflix’s upcoming supernatural mystery Baramulla, starring Manav Kaul. Known for their experimental artistry and emotionally textured soundscapes, the duo has crafted both the background score and three original songs, infusing the film with their signature blend of depth, boldness, and sonic innovation.
The album’s three songs each unveil a unique mood and purpose. The poignant “Neend Ke Shikare”, performed by Shilpa Rao, transforms the Kashmiri folk classic Hokhus Bokhus into a tender yet haunting lullaby — a mother’s voice of solace in a land shadowed by conflict. Woven with delicate strings, soft percussion, and ethereal harmonies, the song captures the fragile coexistence of love and fear that lies at the heart of Baramulla.
In contrast, “Phirse Dikhe”, sung by Krishna Beuraa, offers a lyrical pause within the film’s emotional turbulence. Inspired by Arni Rang Gome, it radiates warmth and renewal, celebrating fleeting human connections through acoustic guitars and rustic rhythms — a gentle reminder that even amidst darkness, the soul seeks light.
Completing the trio is the edgy title track “Baramulla”, performed by Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes. A pulsating electronic anthem anchored by a haunting rabab motif, it mirrors the film’s core of mystery and duality — modern, visceral, and unforgettable.
Marking their first collaboration with director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, Shor Police have also scored the film’s evocative background music. Bianca shares, “We wanted the fear to feel organic — born from silence, not sound. The Kashmiri folk influences gave the music an authenticity that’s both haunting and poetic.” Clinton adds, “Creating tension through music was thrilling — the rabab and percussive textures grounded the soundscape beautifully.”
With Baramulla, Shor Police transcend genres once again — blending folk roots, cinematic orchestration, and modern electronica to craft an unforgettable auditory journey.
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar, Baramulla premiered November 7 on Netflix.
