Slowly, the team began designing various get-ups and appearances, and the audience responded with immense love. I am grateful to my directors and writers for trusting me with these opportunities. My process always begins with exploring variations and references, moving to costumes and makeup, and finally defining body language and attitude before stepping into the role. Every character, male or female, is treated with the same level of authenticity and attention to detail.”
Aasif Sheikh further elaborated on the challenges of playing female roles, admitting that the transformation process is demanding yet rewarding: “For me, a character is simply a character. Gender does not matter—what matters is authenticity. Of course, female roles take more time, with elaborate costumes and makeup often taking hours. I remember one particular track that became very popular with the audience—it took almost two and a half hours just to get ready, and the shoot continued for several days in that look. These get-ups require patience, dedication, and consistent effort, but I enjoy doing it.”
