Praful Gutka’s journey from hero to producer of successful Hindi-Gujarati films is very interesting. His upcoming film Meher Karo Maa Meldi is a social film and does not show any miracles or rituals of Mataji, but an attempt has been made to show the difference between faith and superstition, said the film’s producer Praful Gutka. The film was shot at various locations in Rajpipla.

Prafulbhai has previously made Hindi (Taqdeer Ke Phere) and Gujarati (Preete Bandheyela Parewadan) film. Hailing from Jamnagar, settled in Mumbai years ago, he participated in many plays and other cultural programs during his college days. He has also acted in Gujarati play Kudratna Khel and the Hindi play Aasteen Ka Saamp. In addition, he played character roles in many Hindi films. After making Hindi film Taqdeer Ke Phere he established his own production house Bhuvaneshwari Films and made first film Mere Saathi Mere Meet at the age of twenty-three. After few Hindi films, he turned towards the Gujarati film industry and made the film Preet Bandhayela Parewada.
Talking to Glamgold about next film Meher Karo Maa Meldi, Mr. Gutka says, “I noticed that no film has been made on Mataji in Gujarati for a long time. So I decided to make a film with Meldi Mata as the center. The film has been directed by Nilesh Mehta and written by Raveena Nagiriya (Shah). The screenplay and dialogues of the film have been written by Ashok Upadhyay. The film stars Nirav Kalal, Arzu Limbachiya, Rajiv Panchal, Pooja Soni, Dhara Trivedi, Nikunj Mehta, Paresh Rathod, Kaushika Goswami, Purvi Shah, Viraj Solanki, Hansa Sonar, Naishadh Rawal, Jaival Soni and P. C. Kapadia.”
The story of the film is about a businessman (Rajeev Panchal) and his family, including wife (Pooja Soni) and son (Nirav Kalal). The son falls in love with a girl (Arzu Limbachiya). After the wedding, the mother-in-law is not ready to accept her and a conflict begins between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law that seems to have no end. But the daughter-in-law, a devotee of Meldi Mata, is confident that Mataji will definitely shower her blessings.
Are there any plans for another film? Mr. Praful Gutka said, “Yes. Two films are in the pipeline, one of which is based on the story of a brother and sister and the other is Derani Jethani. We will start Derani Jethani after the release of Meher Karo Maa Meldi. It will be directed by Nilesh Mehta.”
