Producer B. R. Chopra’s ITTEFAQ was released on 4th October 1969. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film was super hit and was silver jubilee in Maratha Mandir theater of Mumbai.
The shoot was held on the set of a home created in Rajkamal Kalamandir Studio. It was continuous one month schedule. Music and songs are part of Hindi films. Without songs we can’t imagine a Bollywood film but ITTEFAQ was a song less film at that time.
The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the lead with Nanda, Bindu, Madan Puri and Iftekhar playing supporting roles. The movie is a remake of 1965 American movie ‘Signpost To Murder which had earlier been adapted into a Gujarati drama Dhummas, starring Sarita Joshi.
This film is counted among the 17 consecutive hit films starring Rajesh Khanna in lead role between 1969 and 1971.
2017 released ITTEFAQ was inspired from this film starring Siddhartha Malhotra, Akshae Khanna and Sonakshi Sinha.
