It was like they created the world for me : Abhishek Banerjee on Kaali 2

Abhishek Banerjee, who played a colourful character in ‘Stree’, is set to make his Bengali digital debut with the season two one of the most popular Bengali shows titled ‘Kaali’. The actor shares his experience and his favourite scene from the show.

Kaali 2 is a nail-biting crime thriller and this time, with something completely different the story revolves around a helpless mother struggling hard to save her son who has only a few hours’ oxygen left in his cylinder. She is caught in an interrogation and is in the police custody. Luck favours her but that is not long-lived. Though she manages to escape, her path is beset within numerous difficulties before she can help her son. On the other hand, a dangerous criminal escapes from the prison. A drug consignment reaches the city.  The lonely woman is caught amidst the gang war and reaches out to her only place of hope. Baffled by betrayals and innocent deaths, the mother now turns to a fierce woman who mends her way to learn the skills of survival in this battle.

“I think the scene where I meet the accountant of the cartel. The location was raw real. We were shooting in a real leather factory.. it was like they created the world for me. The scene has too many beats ..silences and finally action.. its was really entertaining to perform that.”

The show highlights the journey of Kaali, her namesake from an extremely timid woman to a powerful Goddess. The lead role will be played by Paoli Dam as Kaali, Rahul Banerjee, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Abhishek Banerjee and Vidya Malvade will be seen in other important roles.

Kaali 2 is all set to release exclusively on ZEE5 on 29th May 2020.

So it was really very crazy till the time I finished reading and brushed up on my character as I had less time. I was actually wondering how they thought of casting me because physicality wise and even otherwise I’ve never done something like that. So I really give the credit to Auritro and Rohan for imagining me to play this hardass cop, otherwise, when you look at me, it’s really not somebody who can look hardass. For me, Rohan and Auritro had a vision and I had to translate it so as a prep I was literally taken from the directors and then molded the women into what I thought would be her. As a go back I checked on Kiran Bedi and all the videos I could find of high ranking lady police officers as such,” shared Vidya.

Alia Bhatt Designs her Office with Dear Zindagi Art Director Rupin Suchak

Alia Bhatt is one of the top actors in Bollywood and has proven her talent time and again. We got a sneak peek into her office space which she has bought recently done up by her friend and Dear Zindagi art director Rupin Suchak to suit the actor’s aesthetics. On seeing the 2,800 sqft. office space, Rupin had a vision of how the place should look like and immediately came up with a plan to turn it around.

Alia has a sophisticated taste and Rupin has made that alive through the office space. It has multiple quirky yet classy features. There is a humongous 12 feet deep picture window that runs along the entire walkway and the most striking feature about the space. The feature allows lots of natural light which in turn comes in from the living room.

Speaking about designing Alia’s office, Rupin, said, “Even though the execution took 4 months, it was all worth the wait. Alia likes to be involved in every decision and because of her shoot schedule there were times we’d have to wait for her to approve and confirm certain designs and structures. I still remember Alia being specific about how she wants certain things but her one-line brief was that the place should have a very happy-go-lucky feel with unconventional and graphic art corners around. So we added a lot of Turkish colour palettes to the space which had a muted neutral base. Floor pillows, leather poufs, and comfortable chairs definitely add to the cosy atmospheres of boho interiors. This office space in a way was a great opportunity for her to express her love of art and design,”

Alia Bhatt who is thrilled see her office take a complete turnaround, said, “Rupin got the pulse of what I wanted to do with my office. He got the brief spot on and effortlessly. The space is now an extension of my personality and that is exactly how I had envisaged. He has made the place look more spacious, included a surprise element or two breaking monotony, yet giving it an overlay of serenity and coziness”.

The actor intends to hold her meetings and especially script readings at her brand new and quirky office space once the lockdown ends.

This is what Raghubir Yadav had to say when asked about his Alien-like character in ZEE5’s Ghoomketu!

The prolific actor Raghubir Yadav has been entertaining the audience for decades and now will be next seen in Pushpendra Nath Mishra’s directorial film ‘Ghoomketu’ in a never seen avatar before. The actor who has essayed the role of a father, son, brother and a friend in various films will have a unique character in his upcoming next.

The makers of the film released the trailer recently, where we’ve seen Raghubir play the character of Ghoomketu’s father, who is a strict dad from a small village in India.

Interestingly, the actor will be seen sporting the look of an alien in the film. This can specifically comes be seen when Ghoomketu starts imagining one of his written scripts and imagines his father portraying a character.

When asked Raghubir about it he said “After the whole shoot for my part was done, Pushpendra Ji said, there is one more scene pending which We would like to shoot in Bombay. So I asked him about it. So after a couple of days when I returned to Bombay I got a call for a night shoot. When I reached there I asked for the script to which the director said that you need to get ready so please get your make up done first. So when I went to get my make up done so I saw weird and long ears with some hair wig in the van I did not look at myself during the makeup and thought will only look in the mirror when the shoot is done. So I completed the shoot and came back to my vanity van. And let me tell you when I saw myself in the mirror it was very difficult for me to accept the fact that it is me.And till date, I could never get that look out of my head.”

Apart from Raghubir Yadav the movie also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role of Ghoomketu, while filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has essayed the character of a lazy police office named Officer Badlani.  The rest of the cast includes Ila Arun as Ghoomketu’s aunt in lead roles along with Swanand Kirkire, Ragini Khanna and others.

Along with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha; the film will also see special cameos from Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmaker Nikhil Advani.

Directed and written by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN), this film will be exclusively releasing on 22nd May on ZEE5.
