Yuvraaj Parashar’s tribute to Pulwama Martyrs with MEHROO

Actor, producer Yuvraaj Parashar gives tribute to Indian soldiers who died in Pulwama terrorist attack on 14 February 2019 with his directorial debut video MEHROO. He has penned story and screenplay.

Produced by Movies Masti Magic Studios, the video stars Vibhoutee Sharma, Suhel Ali Khan and Yuvraaj Parashar. The music is composed by Sangeet & Siddharth Haldipur, lyrics by Rashmin Dighe and sung by Sangeet.

Says Yuvraaj, “MEHROO is very close to my heart. I always wanted to direct something like this. The story of MEHROO is based on real life heroes of our Indian army and because of them we live life happily. This is my tribute to martyrs on the eve of India’s 73rd Independence Day. Jai Hind.”

When asked how was the experience as director he replies, “I have worked as actor and producer in the past but as director this is my first project. I am very excited but also very nervous. I’m glad that I got my 2nd music single just after Sajda.”

Suhel Ali Khan had worked in Yuvraaj’s first music single Sajda and now he did MEHROO. Suhel says, “It was an honor for me to play a Indian solidier.”

Vibhoutee Sharma said, “Many girls like Mehroo are going through this where they choose to rise above the fear of losing their loved ones in order to save the country and people living in it.”

La Trobe University announces the ‘Shah Rukh Khan La Trobe University PhD Scholarship’

Today La Trobe University announced the Shah Rukh Khan La Trobe University PhD Scholarship, providing a life-changing opportunity for an aspiring female researcher from India to make a meaningful impact in the world. Aligned to Shah Rukh Khan’s leadership on humanitarian and social justice causes this prestigious four-year PhD scholarship aims to inspire a female researcher from India to undertake research to help find solutions to the growing challenges of our time. The scholarship is being introduced in recognition of Mr. Khan’s dedication to women’s empowerment, through his MEER Foundation.

The successful candidate will be a female Indian national who has completed a Masters by Research degree (or equivalent) within the past 10 years. The candidate will be supported with a four-year research scholarship valued in excess of $200,000 (AUD) to be completed at La Trobe’s state-of-the-art facilities in Melbourne, Australia. They will undertake research supervised by the University’s leading experts in health, sport, information technology, cyber security or engineering.

The announcement was made during Shah Rukh Khan’s visit to La Trobe University as chief guest of the 2019 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. La Trobe is the first Australian University to award Shah Rukh Khan with an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Letters (honoris causa), in recognition of his wide- ranging humanitarian work, including establishing the Meer Foundation to support and empower women who have survived acid attacks in India.

La Trobe Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Dewar, said “Mr. Khan’s philanthropic leadership drove the decision to create a PhD scholarship in his name. “The Shah Rukh Khan La Trobe University PhD Scholarship” recognises Mr. Khan’s extraordinary altruism, demonstrated in his work to advocate for women’s empowerment.”

Mr. Khan said, “As a passionate advocate for women’s equality and empowerment, I am delighted that this scholarship will give an Indian woman a chance to pursue research in a field which is likely to lead her towards an exciting and a successful career. I thank the La Trobe University wholeheartedly for giving someone this wonderful opportunity”.

Actress Rekha Rana praises Palash Dutta for his short film ‘Silent Ties’.

Bollywood actress Rekha Rana was recently spotted supporting her dear friend Palash Dutta and Renuka Shahane at the screening of their short film “Silent Ties” The actress was seen along with various other directors, producers and television actors for the screening.

When asked Rekha Rana about the short film she stated, “Silent Ties is a beautiful film portrayed via the message of Raksha Bandhan. The film spreads the message of love and equality. It conveys us to support every kind of relationship that the humankind builds. I’m very happy for my friend Palash and Renuka as it needs lots of courage for carrying out such a unique character. I wish them all the very best for all their future projects.”

Rekha Rana who is a recipient of 35 international and national awards for the movie “Tara: The Journey of Love and Passion”. She has also recently made her directorial debut with the music video ‘Jogiya’ which was recently released under the banner of T-Series.

South actress Archana Shashtry to make her Bollywood debut

The vivacious and beautiful south film star Archana Shashtry, who has worked in many films in Telegu, Tamil and Kannada cinema is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Big Bat Films horror film Mushkil – Fear Behind You. The film will hit the screen on August 9 and features Archana as the lead actress, who is possessed by a ghost.

The actress recalls how she had an eerie experience shooting for the film at Pappingo in Greece. She says, “The location was really haunted and we have also heard that many people have committed suicides in Greece at that particular location. I could see shadows in the night. There have been incidents of horror movie sets, where such stories attract the real threat, but director Rajiv S Ruia and producer Ravinder Jeet Dariya were ready to take their chances as the story speaks for itself in the end.”

As seen on the posters, she is the complete opposite of what it looks. She said, “I am playing the possessed one, but people should not be scared, they should go to the theatres and get the excitement and thrill that comes from watching horror movies.” The actress is excited to be part of a horror film because they are not as much in comparison to the other genres and firmly believes that her acting abilities will keep the horror movie lover thrilled and scared.

Sharman Joshi and director Aaryaan Saxena thank the villagers of Ranchi

Shooting at real location in order to give the movies the rustic and real look is something directors love doing. One such incident happened with writer Aaryaan Saxena who is all set to make directorial debut with “Fauji Calling”. The movie portrays the life and struggles of a martyr’s family and the challenges that they have to undergo after the emotional and uneventful loss of a dear one at the country’s border.

Few scenes of the movie were needed to shot in Dirigarah, a village downstream of Dassam Falls some 45 kilometers from Ranchi. As the area was bit dangerous the actors were not entirely convinced for shooting but after listening to Aaryaan’s narration they were so assured that they ended up shooting in that location putting all their trust in Aaryaan and his team.

When asked about the shoot that took place in Ranchi, director Aaryaan Saxena stated that, “It was an important shoot and I am happy it was pulled off successfully.  The entire village has been co-operative during our month long schedule and some of the residents even worked with us as junior artist in the film. I am extremely thankful of all the villagers and the artists of the movie who helped in making it possible and putting their trust and faith in me and my work. I believe that the movie will garner lots of positive appreciation from the audience”

The movie ‘Fauji Calling’ features actors like Sharman Joshi, Ranjha Vikram Singh, Bidita Bag, Mugdha Godse, child actor Mahi Soni and veteran actress Zarina Wahab & is produced by Ovez Productions and Running Horses Studios Pvt Ltd. The movie has completed its second schedule and is ready to go on floor for its third schedule by the end of this August.

Rahat Kazmi’s film Lihaaf won German hearts

Indian International filmmaker Rahat Kazmi’s film, Lihaaf, recently premiered as the closing film at 16th Indisches Filmfestival, Stuttgart 2019.

The film, which is based on Ismat Chughtai’s most celebrated and most-controversial story, garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience present at the time of screening.

The director and his team could not mark their presence as they were shooting for their next film. However, the actress of the movie, Sonal Sehgal attended the festival on behalf of her team, alongwith the Oscar-winning producer of the movie, Marc Baschet and Co-Editor and Creative Consultant of the film, Golda Sellam, who is also a renowned Film Expert of Europe.

The 16th Indisches Filmfestival was held in Stuttgart (Germany) from July 17 to 21, 2019 and presented feature films, documentaries, children’s and animated films of all length and format, followed by an Award Ceremony on July 21, 2019 for best feature, documentary, short film and so on.

Actress Sonal Sehgal who is also a co-writer in the movie says, “Lihaaf was supposed to premiere at Stuttgart as closing film but due to the heavy demand, the organisers screened it twice. Nonetheless, we received an amazing response from the audience.”

Meanwhile, Lihaaf was also screened at Indo-German Filmweek which was held in Babylon (Berlin) from July 11 to 24, 2019. Started in February 2013 by Stephan Ottenbruch, the Indo-German Filmweek is held annually where Indian films of all languages are screened followed by workshops and discussions with the filmmakers and team.

Lihaaf had two screenings at Indo-German Filmweek and there also, the organisers added another screening on public demand. Sonal Sehgal added, “Usually, the audience watch the screening and leaves the hall whereas, in both Berlin and Stuttgart, we were amazed to see that Q&A round after our screening went on for more than 45 minutes. The audience were just so overwhelmed. She was surprised to know that German students had read Lihaaf as it was in their curriculum. They asked questions about the making of the film, women author writing such a bold story, on homosexuality and how the theme is more relevant in the present era than at the time, the story was written.”

No denying the fact, Lihaaf attracted German Press and made headlines in both the festivals. The film is co-written and directed by Rahat Kazmi and produced by Tariq Khan, Zeba Sajid, Namita Lal, Umesh Shukla, and Ashish Wagh and co-produced by Marc Baschet.

Polish Actress Natalia Janoszek marks her Bollywood debut with Chicken Curry Law

Natalia Janoszek who hails from Poland is excited for her first Bollywood outing- a Hindi feature film titled Chicken Curry Law. Natalia will be sharing screen space with powerhouse performers like Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande who are playing pivotal roles.

Natalia will be seen playing the role of a foreign national who travels to India in search of a livelihood and gets brutally raped. Her fight for justice and tryst with the Indian legal system forms the major part of the narrative. The story throws light on deep rooted social problem of women’s safety and her character’s uphill battle with the legal system throw light on law- politics nexus, corruption and blatant violation of human rights.

Talking about Natalia Janoszek’s role, she said, “I am excited for the release of this film as it is a highly relevant topic in today’s times not just in India but all over the world. I am sure it will create a social impact. It was a big opportunity for me to work with reputed Indian actors like Ashutosh Rana and Makarand Deshpande. I had googled them before coming to India, their filmography and experience intimidated me at the beginning but when I met them in person they exceptionally accommodating and guided me throughout the filming process. ”

Speaking about roping in Natalia for the role, Shekhar Sirrin said, “I think Natalia is a very gifted actor and a very brave woman. Coming to a new country and delivering on a role like this can be quite a task. She was far away from home and working on a sensitive subject like this- playing a rape victim who fights for justice can be taxing for any woman. We tried to handhold her as much as possible.

Shekhar Sirrin’s directorial debut, Chicken curry law is being released by Panorama Studios International, all over India on 9th August. Ashutosh Rana and Makran Deshpande play lead roles.

Rahuul Chuwdhary completed short film TEA WITHOUT SUGAR

Actor Rahuul Chuwdhary completed the shoot of short film TEA WITHOUT SUGAR written and directed by Vipin Uniyal who is writing Akshay Kumar’s next Bollywood movie ‘Bachhan Pandey’. The first poster was unveiled recently. The film also stars Pretty Aggarwal and Khush Thakur is DoP.

The short film TEA WITHOUT SUGAR is story of a person who is suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia.  The disease Paranoid Schizophrenia is characterized by predominantly positive symptoms of Schizophrenia, including delusions and hallucinations. These debilitating symptoms blur the line between what is real and what isn’t, making it difficult for the person to lead a typical life.

Talking about the shot film Rahuul says, “When Vipin narrated the story, I was stunned. I immediately said yes because this is a challenging character to play and I did not want to miss the opportunity.”

Rahuul Chuwadhary who has done many serials and films like Pankh – A Daughters Tale, Dunno Y2…Life Is A Moment is now excited for his next two films releasing soon. Rahuul will now be seen in Partho Ghosh directed film ‘Dosti Zindabad’, Manoj Giri directed Main Khudiram Bose Hun and the upcoming web series Love, Life and Screw Ups season 2. Rapchee OTT App launched in presence of celebrities

Television is no longer the space for entertainment any more. Personal content viewing has given family entertainment a big run for its money and that’s just why there are OTT platforms that are picking up pace in the web world. And while a lot of big players in the OTT space are vying for customers and luring their attention with cheaper monthly subscription plans, soon enough the market will see the rise of a new player that’s sure to be lapped up readily by the masses.
